Griff the Invisible, which had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, is a superhero romantic comedy and is not exactly your typical caped-crusader movie...

Griffin is a fictional character, the eponym and antagonist of H. G. Wells's science fiction novel titled The Invisible Man. Which was first published in 1897. Griffin is a young scientist who wants to create the ultimate humanoid by creating a race of invisible people.

This movies a take on that and stars True Blood star Ryan Kwanten as Griff which is set in Australia. Griff, is a socially awkward and bullied office worker (just like Clark Kent) and at night, he turns vigilante his alter-ego to protect his neighborhood in Melbourne.

He juggles this double life quite well until he meets a girl named Melody (Maeve Dermody) and has his world turned upside down. Melody, a beautiful young scientist who is just as socially awkward as Griff is and shares his passion for the impossible.

“Griff” is directed by Leon Ford and stars:

Ryan Kwanten as Griff

Maeve Dermody as Melody

Kelly Paterniti as Gina

Heather Mitchell as Bronwyn

Marshall Napier as Benson

Toby Schmitz as Tony

David Webb as Gary

Kate Mulvany as Cecilia

Patrick Brammall as Tim

Chan Griffin as Top Hat

Anthony Phelan as Detective Stone

LEEE777 - Griff, office worker by day, superhero by night, right up our street, hopefully a trailer will be out soon.

This was filmed in Australia. Hopefully, it gets some box office attention for the sake of the our (Australia's) dwindling film industry.
Studios are goin' to New Orleans and South Africa these days!

I've seen it (small screening out here in Australia earlier in the year), and it is a really nice film. I'd recommend it to anyone. Ryan Kwanten is a fantastic actor.

WOOOO! Finally someone protecting Melbourne hahaha @ LEEE does it say which suburb? Finally I might be able to put a film next to Gabriel that's australian. All we seem to be able to produce are low budget comedies, low budget artsy films, high budget crime dramas and high budget horror films. And they pretty much all suck, God I hope that they have finally realised that no one wants to see Australian stereotypes on the big screen hahaha

Lc @ Cheers, lookin' forward to it lol! ; )

EditNinja/ShadesAtKnight/Boekelaar @ Cool your all from OZ?! Yeah hopefully this is good, looks pretty good!

Shades @ Really cool, you should do a review man! Weird theres no traiker out yet?!

NINJA @ Fingers crossed dude!

Boek @ Cool an nah lol, I don't know one suburb to the other lol? SHADES probably knows! Isn't that TV soap based there, Neighbors? : /

Gabriel that Angel and demons type movie btw??

Boekelaar
Boekelaar - 11/22/2010, 5:03 AM
Gabriel is the Angels demon movie, was made for $150,000 or something. So for what it is and such it's amazing.

Neighbours hahahaha yeah that's filmed in a Melbourne suburb. People go there and do burnouts and stuff up the street so they can see it on the show lol I personally don't do it but people do. I just wanna know to see if Griff's protecting one of the bad suburbs, if it's based in Toorak or something he'd be a massive pussy (Tooraks where all the rich people live :P)
LEEE777
LEEE777 - 11/22/2010, 6:31 AM
Boekelaar @ Oh lol, yeah hopefully it ain't in Toorak then heh heh!

Burnouts hehe... yeah I think I've seen that movie Gabriel, lots of guns and trenchcoats, like it!
