Henry Cavill (The Tudors, Man Of Steel) confirmed today with USA Today that he will indeed star opposite Armie Hammer in the upcoming film reboot of the popular television show The Man From U.N.C.L.E.. Now for many fans this is interesting news, as Hammer was once attached to play Batman in the now canned Justice League: Mortal. With the general audience seeing Cavill and Hammer on the big screen together, could this be a strategy to see how the general audience would react (women wouldn't have a hard time)?. Here's what Cavill had to say:

"Things are full-steam ahead. It's all very early days. But it's gonna happen. Well, this is Hollywood. It's supposed to happen."

World's Finest in a different way. I have a feeling that before, during or after the filming (U.N.C.L.E.) WB is going to offer Hammer the role of Bats.

Its up the director. I don't know who I want to be the next Batman but I know I don't want Hammer. The Lone Ranger looks crap.

That means Armie wont be Batman in Worlds Finest. :-(

This should confirm why a World's Finest should not happen with Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer. Visually, it is a terrible idea to have Hammer presumably as Batman towering over Cavill. Once the two are seen together it will be obvious what a bad idea this is.

Here is a picture of Armie Hammer with Justin Timberlake who is the same size as Cavill just for a visual.

No to a World's Finest!

Armie hammer is instant fail.

He will singlehandedly ruin any dc film he pollutes.

Let marvel have him.

Henry cavill is considerably bigger than timberlake.

@ JorL5150

Henry is listed at 6'1" and Timberlake is 6'0". How is that considerably bigger?

Other than being taller - he is girthier. Timberlake is built like a 12 year old girl.

Trudy eats pickled pig wieners, btw.

My whole point is that he is much taller. On film it visually makes you look more dominant which is supposedly why US Presidents are usually tall. Plus as another poster pointed out, it is unrealistic to have a Batman that tall because it would further compromise his secret identity since the vast majority of men are NOT 6'5"

so long as Cavill doesn't play opposite Hammer in a Worlds Finest film

@ JorL5150

Tom Cruise? First off Tom cruise never has a movie where he shares the spotlight. He is the star. Plus it does not matter if he is taller or not since he is usually the focus of the movie and there is almost never an iconic character that needs to be portrayed as his equal. You are comparing apples to oranges.

I liked the Sherlock Holmes movies. But I'll have to see the trailer before I become seriously interested in this movie.

there goes Hammers opportunity at Batman......it would be too weird to have them both in UNCLE then showdown again in a WORLDS FINEST. I still vote for Bales return,,,,betting the easter egg in MOS is the Wayne Enterprises Logo from Nolans Batman on the Satellite that gets blown down.

Jay Z will be Batman before Hammer is.

Hey! It could happen!

A lot of people are killing Hammer. Is it because he's often picked to be Batman in fancast?

To me he is a good actor, I think he would've been a good Batman in a TV series, but because he's becoming a bigger name, it seems unlikely.

I don't want tom cruise_ I was pointing out that anyonw can be made to look "tall". Hell humphrey bogart was real short and he played tough guys.

And no- I don't want armie fat face anywhere near a dc film.

Make him the next tony stark.

Armie Hammer isn't bad nut Jake Gylllenhal has my vote he's a great actor with tons of recognition not to mention he loves the character and wants to play a superhero. If he was given the role I don't doubt he would play it to the best of his abilities. Give it a thought.
