Talking to
Collider about his new shows,
Homeland and
Awake, executive producer Howard Gordon once again offered up a brief update on the status of the long talked about movie adaptation of
24. The series wrapped up in a way specifically designed to be continued on the big screen, although there's been little to no movement since it ended last year. There have however been plenty of rumors, and it thankfully seems that the project is still alive...barely.
"If the movie happens, I’ll certainly be a part of it. Kiefer [Sutherland] also has his own show now (Touch on Fox) and there are a lot of things that would have to fall into place. But, those things are definitely moving forward. Imagine and Fox are talking, and there is a script that we’re re-approaching right now."
As the month go by, I find it harder and harder to believe that this movie will ever see the light of day, especially as interest must surely be fading even for the most die-hard of fans. Tony Scott has previously been attached to direct (as he was with Mark Millar's
Nemesis) but whether he's still involved is unclear, as is how far along production on
24: The Movie really is. For now, be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place, and if you're interested in reading about Gordon's other projects, you can find out much more by clicking the link below.
