Is Elton John Being Lined Up For A Cameo In Matthew Vaughn's THE SECRET SERVICE?
We already know that Star Wars' Mark Hamill will be making an appearance, but a bizarre new report has surfaced indicating that singer Sir Elton John is being lined up for an action-packed cameo in Matthew Vaughn's big screen adaptation of The Secret Service. Read on for details!
Set for release next year, Matthew Vaughn's take on the Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons comic book series looks set to be a star studded affair after already casting Colin Firth and Michael Caine in leading roles. While Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Cruise reportedly passed on the chance to play the lead villain, the director is still on the hunt for a big star for that role and is said to be interested in Emma Watson for the female co-star. Well, according to The Sun, Sir Elton John is now being lined up for a cameo which will see him taking part in a "huge" fight scene. "The Secret Service is going to be a big British movie so Matthew wants to include some iconic British stars," one source reportedly told the site. "He wants to turn the films into a franchise, so getting big names on board will help boost its profile. Seeing Elton fighting will be movie gold. He’s a great addition." The Sun - far from a reliable source - were actually one of the first sites to also report that Sir Michael Caine has been cast in the movie; something later verified by Variety.
