JAMES BOND 25 Has A Release Date And Writing Team But Will Daniel Craig Return As 007?

The 25th James Bond movie is going to be a big deal but after Spectre disappointed (following Skyfall was always going to be tough), excitement for this instalment isn't exactly at an all-time high right now.

Regardless, it's happening and we now know that James Bond 25 will be released in US
theaters on November 8th, 2019. It will reach the UK and the rest of the world earlier than that but probably only by a week or two. It's also been confirmed that Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall, and Spectre scribes Neal Purvis and Robert Wade will once again be teaming up to tell Bond's latest adventure.

Longtime producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli are also back so, behind the scenes, very little has changed. What we don't know is who will direct but that's unlikely to be Sam Mendes. The cast also hasn't been announced but The New York Times has run a story in which they claim that Daniel Craig is going to return as 007 and that this will be his last outing as the iconic character.

Are you guys excited for Bond's return in 2019? As always, share your thoughts in the usual place.

I really hope Craig does return for this. Spectre felt like a part 1 of 2, & if he doesn't return for the finale, it will feel very anticlimactic. Spectre wasn't a great movie, but it set the stage well for what could be a hell of a sendoff. Thinking back on all the Bond actors we've had, pretty much every single one of them left off on one of their weaker movies. I'd love to see Craig buck that trend by putting forth a film of a similar level of quality to Casino Royale & Skyfall (2 of my top 5 favorite Bond films).

5 films as Bond for Craig is the perfect amount: it puts him one ahead of Brosnan, & less than only Connery & Moore, who both only did that many because they pumped the movies out so fast back then. Giving Craig the time to recharge his batteries is (I think) just what he needs in order to have him come back ready to go out on top. Obviously he felt run down by the time he finished filming Spectre (as evidenced by his comments), but I have a feeling he'll reflect more positively if he can do this last one, knowing for sure that he's stopping afterward, & knowing that people won't be too upset with him for ditching the franchise too soon.

Here's hoping Craig comes back & they end his run as Bond with a bang. Oh & bring back Waltz as Blofeld. That man was born to play a Bond villain, & Spectre felt like just a teaser for something bigger in the future. It'd be a massively wasted opportunity if they cast an actor of his caliber as THE Bond villain, only to have him barely do anything as him. I'm hoping they left him alive for a reason. Please make this movie more Casino Royale & Skyfall than Quantum of Solace & Spectre.

Several reliable sources have said Daniel Craig will return as Bond.

Bond 25 will most likely be his final outing as 007 though.

I'd like to see Fassbander as Bond or even Cavill.
But if you choose one, the other will become too old for this role...
Damn...

Fassbander it is i guess.

Daniel Craig interview with Time Out.

Time Out: Can you imagine doing another Bond movie?
Daniel Craig: I'd rather break this glass and slash my wrists. Not at all. We're done.
Time Out: Do you care who plays Bond after you?
Daniel Craig: Look, I don't give a [frick]. Good luck to them.

That was 2 years ago, just after Skyfall, so he might have just been salty and needed a break, but...

Didn't Loki want that role? Sorry Tom... You're Loki now.

@IDKwhatToChoose - don't you feel the buzz around Hiddleston has cooled down recently?
He wasn't able to establish himself as a star outside MCU (which is a problem for almost all of CBM actors) and 'The Night Manager' either was interpreted as trying too hard to audition for the Bond role or not enough people watched it to be impressed.

@IronGenesis - He was just in Kong: Skull Island.

@TruePunishment - that is where I am going with my point. Nothing came of that for him. A forgettable role in a franchise soon to abandon him. I'm not sure anyone saw that movie and said, "wow! hiddleston was the star."

I will say he did impress with his ability to put on a few pounds of muscle, but other than that that movie to me was all KONG and John C. Reilly.
