Paramount Home Entertainment has announced that Medieval is now available for Digital Download and will arrive on DVD just in time for the hollidays on December 6th!
The fine folks over at Paramount have been kind enough to provide three Red Box codes to give away to celebrate the home video release! You can learn more about the film and find out how to enter below.
Medieval was written and directed by Petr Jákl and stars Ben Foster, Michael Caine, Matthew Goode and Til Schweiger. The film is based on the life of Jan I Ka, who is considered to be one of the greatest warriors in history. The Holy Roman Empire is in a state of disarray due to the recent death of its reigning emperor. At the same time, two feuding brothers, King Wenceslas of Czech and King Sigismund of Hungary, are engaged in a power struggle for control of the vacant throne.
Lord Boresh (Michael Caine) hires the courageous and righteous mercenary leader Jan ika (Ben Foster) to kidnap the powerful Lord Rosenberg's (Til Schweiger) fiancée, Lady Katherine (Sophie Lowe), in order to prevent Rosenberg's rise to power alongside the corrupt King Sigismund. Jan is of the opinion that kings are God's right hand and, as such, they deserve to be honored and obeyed in all circumstances.
As Katherine becomes caught in a dangerous political game between the monarchs, Jan falls in love with her strong spirit and dedication to saving the people.
In a valiant effort to free her, he leads a resistance movement and fights back against the rampant corruption, greed, and betrayal that exists among those who are vying for power.
Jan has come to the conclusion that his feelings for Lady Katherine will determine the future of the Empire, and that the fate of his own life is not in the hands of Kings, but rather in the hands of the people he calls his own.
