One fateful day several years ago, Harriet Vanger (Daddario) disappeared off the secluded island owned and inhabited by the powerful Vanger family. There was no corpse, no witnesses and no evidence. Nearly forty years later, investigative journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Craig) reluctantly accepts the unusual and seemingly unsolvable assignment of finding out what really happened to Harriet. Genius hacker, Lisbeth Salander (Mara) is drawn into the case and the two form a fragile alliance as they dig into the sinister past of the Vangers and find out just how far they’re prepared to go to protect themselves and each other.

Love the original Swedish movies. I'm afraid Hollywood won't do them justice.

I hope it is good. I liked the original. Didnt love it, but I find most Swedish movies to be a pile of crap with the same actors over and over, so the fact that I could bare to watch it, is good. I do not think Hollywoodisation have to be bad, and Craig is great.
Now Im probably gonna be hanged as a heretic by other swedes, I would love to see a big budget remake of the great Astrid Lindgren story "Ronja Robbinsdaughter". I know there is a planned remake based on the classic viking saga "The Longships or Red Orm (swedish titel Röde Orm translates to Red Snake)
Imagen a Pirates of the Caribbean, same humour only a bit more violent, and with vikings!

@ Floke- You can keep your Swede films about Vikings and let Hollywood decide what is best to suck out of your country.

Sorry, you may not understand but I am a Green Bay Packers fan so I'm biased on the whole Viking mythos.

I do agree however that this was a brilliantly done movie and also agree that there is talent in Sweden but just not very much of it spread throughout the country.

This is going to be good, it's David Fincher for God sake, the Swedish version is overrated anyway.

I believe this will be good, David Fincher is a brilliant director, and he hasn't had a terrible movie yet.
