ORLANDO BLOOM WANTS TO RETURN TO PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN

Orlando Bloom passed on the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean movie so that he could spend more time with his girlfriend at the time, and now wife, Miranda Kerr. He also gave multiple quotes stating that he was happy to move on from the character, Will Turner. He perceived that Will's storyline had tied up nicely in the third film. Producers agreed and were glad to concentrate so much of the fourth film on Captain Jack Sparrow.

“I was quite sad not to be in the fourth and I really miss working on them.

“If they said they wanted me back, of course I’d do it. It’s great to see the franchise still doing well.”

ORLANDO BLOOM ON BUCKINGHAM'S POMPADOUR

“I didn’t like the idea of wearing a wig, but I wanted to have a hairstyle that would lend itself to the period. I love Teddy Boys [the British ’50s subculture inspired by the Edwardian period], so that’s where the quiff came from. My hair was brushed up and sprayed,” he explains, revealing that David Bowie was another source of inspiration.

“Paul wanted us to play the characters as rockstars of our generation, and mine was Bowie. Buckingham has the swagger of Ziggy Stardust and wears outrageous costumes. In my opinion, you have to own those costumes, otherwise they wear you – and then you run the risk of looking like a big tomato.” - Courtesy of dailytelegraph.com

His career is not going that well I guess, c'mon The Three Musketeers? that's not a way to grow on the movies world, not with Paul Anderson directing your movie anyway :P

Bloom is quite simply not a good actor. I might not go so far as to say he is terrible, although [frick] it, he's terrible.

Davy Jones was bad ass. We need another character like him more than Orlando Bloom's character.

I think that they should run into him in the 5th one, even for a short period of time.

Too tall. lol.

I don't think he's a horrid actor, merely servicable, who's always played the dashing handsome hero in any movie he was successful in. The girls used to swoon over him (do they still do this? I know my niece was crazy for him).

I do laugh (and loudly) at his statement "Of course" he'd come back because I remember him inbetween Pirates 2 and 3 in an interview that he was tired of playing those type of characters. Funny how people change their mind when the phone isn't ringing.

The thing is tho' Kiera Knightly also doesn't want to return but if Will is coming back, they'd have to bring her back too.

I'm curious, for the people who think he's a bad actor; what is it specifically that makes him A bad actor? It's just so easy for someone to say that, but is he really, can you give examples? I personally think he's fine in everything he does.

HE CAN COME BACK ANYTIME HE WANTS CAUSE IN THE FRANCHISE LAST WE SAW HIM HE IS IMMORTAL ANYWAYS, AND SINCE HE PROBABLY IS DOING HIS JOB RIGHT HE WONT TURN INTO SOME OCTOPUS HEAD. KEIRA KNIGHTLY WILL HAVE PROBABLY CROAKED OF OLD AGE SO YOU COULD ALWAYS BRING IN A NEW LOVE INTREST, LIKE GEMMA ARTERTON..SEXYNESS.

I like the guy... but he need some serious London theatre professional training. He acts too wooden. needs to loosen up.

It was weird watching On Stranger Tides. There were only like four characters that got carried over from the three prior films. They tried to make a Will-like character with the missionary, but they killed him off. So, do I want Bloom to return? If it means feeling like I'm watching a film from the PoC franchise again, then, yes, I'll jump on board.

I would love to see him back.

they never really finished his story... What.. he has to stand in a bucket of water on land once every 10 years and have sex with his wife? He needs to be free of that ship and his curse!!

thus said.. speaking of his curse, do we have to bring back Keira? You know she will want equal screen time again.

So are they still playing around with the idea of Russell Brand as Sparow's brother foe the next one? The next movie should have Henry Morgan-and there is only one man to play him,age be damned....BRIAN BLESSED!

...as some have already said, Bloom is not a "great" actor, but his is still developing.

1) He did did well in Blackhawk Down,
2) He was a great "whimpy little brother" in Troy..that was hard to see after his LOTR braveness,
3) He was good in Kingdom of Heaven...yes it was a long movie, but I wouldn't call it boring.

I didn't care for DiCapprio too much when he was coming up, I thought he was overrated, but then he grew into his groove and he's great...Bloom may get there.

Actually I think that Orlando Bloom is quite good in terms of being a good actor while he might not be 'great' as in 'great' he is good in the way of 'cool'. I think he also has talent and with time he will continue to improve and develope.

I also think that it would make sense for Bloom to return in Pirates of the Caribbean 5 and 6 as he has been established as the Captain of the Flying Dutchmen.

@GUNSMITH, I'm sure Disney will want to bring Kiera back but Gemma Arterton isn't a bad idea as I enjoyed her in Prince of Persia.

god no, the last movie wasnt all that good but it was still better without Orlando "so wooden you could make a furniture set out of him" Bloom

Say what you will about Orlando's acting chops; I think he has done alright with the parts he has had to play. But as the Duke of Buckingham, he is AWESOME! And I want that blue waistcoat; I would wear that thing all the time.
