Homeland star Rupert Friend will be the second actor to play the genetically-engineered elite assassin after Justified's Timothy Olyphant played Agent 47 in 2007's Hitman. The reboot, Hitman: Agent 47 arrives in North American theaters on August 21.

The film is based on the fictional character Agent 47 from the Hitman video game series from IO Interactive. Paul Walker was originally set to play the titular character prior to his tragic death. A prior live-action Hitman film was released in 2007 which starred Timothy Olyphant.

Someone should remind who made this film that the silverballers are only the last resource in the game, they are mostly used in cutscenes and the ending of Blood Money is the only time you must use them in-game as much as I know (haven't played the first game and Absolution and I still have to finish Contracts).

I will go see this in theaters. I fully support R-rated action movies & anyone with balls & a brain should too.
A world of candy ass PG/PG-13 movies is a joke.

@DetBullock Silent Assassin, Contracts and Blood Money are the only Hitman games you should play. Absolution was a joke. They destroyed the concept by pandering to the ADD Call Of Duty players who need constant action. No longer are you rewarded for and encouraged to actually be a silent assassin. Contracts is my favorite Hitman game.

@kakinurmawth that's what I heard, only a few people I know on the 'net liked it, I have it from a Humble Bundle so I think I'll try it anyway sometimes, at least I paid only a dollar for it.
