THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a "Victor's Tour" of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) - a competition that could change Panem forever.

THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE is directed by Francis Lawrence, and produced by Nina Jacobson’s Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik. The novel on which the film is based is the second in a trilogy that has over 50 million copies in print in the U.S. alone. Opens on November 22, 2013.

Much better film than expected. I left the theatre and immediately looked up when the next one came out. Appears they're going the Harry Potter route and will be composing the last book into two films. Can't wait.

@Nail

The film is very well crafted.

I'd been planning to re-watch the first film before the sequel; a flexible ritual.

Never got a chance to netflix Hunger Games for a re-cap and still felt like I was watching a film on the heels of its predecessor. The first film sunk in.

It's kinda epic.

I have to admit I was biased on the whole Hunger Games franchise, but then I watched the 2 movies and really liked them.Agree, Catching Fire is one of the best movies this year.

Amazing concept art. A little disappointed they left a few scenes out from the book.

I'll see it on Sunday. It looks very good and many people who didn't like the first told me that they loved this one.

@Golden If you want to wait for the third movie don't read this but in Mockingjay Peeta is captured by Capitol and there is a lot of Katniss and Gale in the beginning. And he couldn't have died since she will choose him in the end.

@beto I actually liked the third book, but yeah Katniss is mostly stuck in a hospital bed in it. I guess they will have to add scenes with the fighting in Capitol when Katniss isn't present. Maybe Peeta and the other victors getting tortured.

@Golden I've heard that CF was very close to the book and only a couple of scenes were missing so I believe that they will stay true to the third one too. Btw read the books if you ever find time, they are very good and they make you think a lot.
