Samuel L. Jackson and Michael Keaton are some of the most prominent actors in the comic book movie sub-genre of action films, and both actors actually starred alongside Tom Holland for the Marvel Studios/Sony Pictures Spidey films.
With Keaton portraying Adrian Toomes's Vulture in Spider-Man: Homecoming and Jackson playing Talos pretending to be Nick Fury in Spider-Man: Far From Home, the stars share the MCU. Between Keaton's return as Batman in The Flash and Vulture in Morbius and Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury headlining Secret Invasion, the two don't seem ready to put away their capes anytime soon.
An upcoming action film brings both of the Spider-Man stars together for The Protégé, which lands in theaters just two months from now on August 20th. Lionsgate has just debuted two versions of motion posters for the movie, in which both actors play assassins.
You can check out both versions of the brand new motion poster here! Below, we've included the trailer and synopsis for the film as well! Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual spot!
Rescued as a child by the legendary assassin Moody (Samuel L. Jackson) and trained in the family business, Anna (Maggie Q) is the world’s most skilled contract killer. But when Moody – the man who was like a father to her and taught her everything she needs to know about trust and survival – is brutally killed, Anna vows revenge. As she becomes entangled with an enigmatic killer (Michael Keaton) whose attraction to her goes way beyond cat and mouse, their confrontation turns deadly and the loose ends of a life spent killing will weave themselves even tighter.
The Protégé hits theaters on August 20.
