According to The Wrap, screenwriter Albert Torres (Henry Poole Is Here) has been hired to write a new draft of the planned big screen adaptation of The Strange Case Of Hyde, a Dark Horse graphic novel which was written by Cole Haddon and published last year. The film adaptation is being produced by Dark Horse Entertainment, Skydance Productions and Mark Gordon Productions. The story (which serves as a sequel to Robert Louis Stevenson's classic novel The Strange Case Of Dr. Jekyll And Mr. Hyde) follows Dr. Jekyll, after he is allegedly rehabilitated, and released from prison to help hunt a new monster who appears to be using an improved version of the infamous Hyde serum. Torres was also hired earlier this year to pen the screenplay for Silver Pictures' planned live action Ben 10 movie, and has also recently been brought on board to re-write Appian Way's Akira remake. Stay tuned to CBM for more news on the planned adaptation.

It's not a ripoff. It just said it serves as a sequel. Did you even read the article?

And I've been wondering if a Ben 10 movie would ever happen. My kids and I love Ben 10. That could be fun if done well.

@TheRationalOne: A Ben 10 live action movie. Would. Be. Sweeeetttt.

I think that would be WB's call though... meaning it'd probably never see the light of day. :(

They really need to make a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde film first. Would make for a great thriller if done right.
