X-MEN Star Hugh Jackman Talks 'James Bond', Says He Would "Seriously Consider It"

When you hear the name of Hugh Jackman, chances are you would instinctively think of the Australian Actor's portrayal of the popular mutant from the X-Men films, Wolverine (A.K.A. James Howlett A.K.A. Logan), but could you picture him putting the claws away and settling for a martini (or Heineken) instead? Well, the actor himself wouldn't put the idea past him.

During an interview on Australian television program The ProjectJackman has revealed not only that he'd "seriously consider it" when asked (via an AskHugh hashtag on social media platform Twitter) about being current 007 actor Daniel Craig, but also that he nearly played the smooth-talking spy almost a decade ago. After one of the show's hosts added if he had already been asked to the enquiry, Jackman had this to say:

"I sort of have, but not now. About ten years ago, or eight years ago, before Daniel [Craig] took over. Um, at the time, I was just about to do X-Men 2, and I was like 'Ahh, I don't think it's the right time' and all that, but it was not an easy one for me to give up. So now, if DanielDaniel's a mate of mine, he's brilliant, if he [gave up the role], y'know, I'd seriously consider it."

The actor also discussed his role in the upcoming Peter Pan prequel, Pan, as well as "stoner girls" at Disneyland, social media (and it's effect on paparazzi) and more, which you can check out in the full interview below.

So, what do you guys think? Could you see the X-Men star play the ladies man spy James Bond? He certainly wouldn't be the first Aussie to take on the role, after George Lazenby replaced Sean Connery in the role for a short while. Sound off in the comments below, and be sure to share and hit that thumbs up!

007 Spectre releases October 26, 2015, and Pan releases October 8.

In the aftermath of Raoul Silva's attack on MI6, a cryptic message sets in motion events that will see James Bond come face-to-face with the sinister organisation known as SPECTRE. While Gareth Mallory, the newly appointed M, continues fighting political pressures that threaten the future of MI6, Bond discovers that the only way to unravel the web of conspiracy is to protect the innocent daughter of a powerful enemy. Following a trail from Mexico to Austria and Morocco, he is forced to operate outside his purview as he is drawn into a confrontation with an enemy from his past.

Haha I'd be fine with either to be honest
I think both Jackman AND Cavill would be able to pull it off

Meh to Cavill as Bond.

Fassbender and Hardy would be WAY better. They have lots more charisma and charm.

Yeah, fair enough

@PesciGotPepsi

I have NO problems with Fassbender, but I honestly just can't get a mental picture of him as Bond in all honesty :/
