Over at The LA Times' Hero Complex Harold Perrineau discusses voicing Blade in G4's newest Anime show. He says he really loves the character and was a fan of the previous movies ("Especially the first two") starring Wesley Snipes. He describes his take on Blade and how he didn't want to stray too far from Snipes' portrayal, and talks about various other aspects of the new show. Most interestingly for all you cross-over fans..
Have you watched the other Marvel anime — X-Men and/or Iron Man?
"They gave me a couple so that I could see what they were like. I didn’t even know that they were doing them. So I used them as a reference and — I don’t know if I’m giving anything away — but a couple of those characters will be in “Blade.”
And he also expresses interest in following in Snipes' footsteps to play
Blade in live action..
Just in case, do you at all see this becoming a live-action thing? Could we see another reboot?
"You know what … I would shave my head and get into the gym tomorrow if they said that I could play Blade. I’d be in the gym pumping iron, doing kung fu… I would love to play Blade live-action. I think the character is ridiculously cool. I’m never going to be as cool as Wesley Snipes was, but I’d give it a shot."
We have heard rumors of Marvel's interest in resurrecting
Blade for another movie, most likely a reboot since it's unlikely Snipes will be back for the role. We have also had several other actors such as Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje and Quinton "Rampage" Jackson throw their hats in the ring to play the character. Guess we can add Mr Perrineau to the list. How would you guys think he would fare as
Blade on the big screen? Be sure to click the link below to check out the full interview.
