About Digimon Adventure Tri Reunion:

It's been six years since that summer adventure when Taichi and the rest of the DigiDestined crossed over to the Digital World and nearly three years since the final battle between Hikari's group and BelialVamdemon. And, at some point, while the peaceful days went by, the gate to the Digital World mysteriously closed.

But when a Kuwagamon suddenly appears in Odaiba, its rampage leaves the town in ruins, and the people there in turmoil. Taichi chases after it, in an effort to halt its rampage. But there's nothing he can do against a Kuwagamon. Not by himself.

Is this good?

@BioTrek - I found them to be all right I personally wouldn't go buy them on blu ray especially with how expensive anime is on blu ray. Finding a streaming site or if say Crunchyroll streamed the movies I would give them a watch. My favorite aspect of the movies is seeing all the original digimon go into their mega digivolutions.

I like anime, but I've never been able to get into this genre of card/game playing.

Anyone else remember Battle of the Planets? Bird helmets. aw yeah.

@JumpRay - The Digimon series for the vast majority has nothing to do with cards or games at all. The only one that has anything to do with cards was Tamer's the third series and while it was present it was never the driving force and after the first third of the series that aspect is almost completely forgotten. In fact Tamers is by far the most emotionally heavy and deepest series out of all the Digimon series with some great characters and dark moments.

@pesmerga44 - I think what @JumpRay is talking about is the buddy anime (like Pokemon) where you have your "friend" or pet fight for you, which was lame as hell.

The only series I liked of Digimon was "Digimon Frontier" because the kids actually fought on their own.

@PrimitiveMan - I think you may be right. I'm not well versed in the genre. I don't like stories where the character has to play a card, summon a creature, or otherwise tap a thing to act for them. It rapidly degenerates into a toy commercial.

It doesn't have to, but it often does.

@JumpRay - Yeah, you aren't the only one, I can't stand that stuff either. If I'm watching a fighting anime (or anime with powers), I want to see the characters fighting, not just rely on their "partners" to bail them out of every situation they get themselves into.

That why I love shows like Dragonball, and Yu Yu Hakusho because the characters actually fight, and get stronger.

@PrimitiveMan - Hells to the yes. I love me some Yu Yu Hakusho. Tho, my first exposure was Poltergeist Report...

@PrimitiveMan - The kids in Digimon Tamers also fought with their Digimon and as someone who saw all of Tamers and Frontier I just found Tamers to be a better story with better characters and mature themes.

@pesmerga44 - Huh, I did not know that another series had the humans transform (albeit through fusion with sentient Digimon, as opposed to frontier with Digimon spirits). Still though, I have a feeling that show will have moments were the Digimon fight battles for their human "friends" for a bit.

I'm actually intrigued, and will check it out with an open mind.

I don't care much for anime. But my ex made me go with her to see Your Name. I was like...

@McGee - I got a story for you that my supervisor at my original job told me. When he was in the navy he was dating his wife. For one of their dates she took him to go see the movie Spirited Away in the theaters.

The thing is his only knowledge of anime was hentai he had seen on the ship so when he was sitting down to see the movie and he saw what it was. He asked his wife "Is that little girl going to be raped by tentacle monsters?" It was freaking hilarious.

Great series. Love me some Digimon. Rewetted the first series about a year ago. First few episodes are a little wonky but most everything else holds up pretty damn well.
