The English dub of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Swordsmith Village Arc will be unsheathed exclusively on Crunchyroll starting Sunday, May 28 at 1:30 PM Pacific Time, and will air new dubbed episodes weekly! All-new episodes of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Swordsmith Village Arc are simulcast from Japan onto Crunchyroll where the streaming service is available, and exclusively in North America, South America, and Europe, which began on April 9.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is based on the manga series by Koyoharu Gotoge, published under SHUEISHA's JUMP COMICS, which consists of 23 volumes and over 150 million copies in publication. The animation production is by ufotable.

Here's a little backstory for those unfamiliar with the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Swordsmith anime series:

The story begins when Tanjiro Kamado, a boy whose family is killed by a demon, joins the Demon Slayer Corps to turn his younger sister Nezuko back into a human after she is transformed into a demon. In April 2019, the TV anime series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba first premiered with the Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc, followed by the release of the feature film Mugen Train in October 2020, and the TV series Mugen Train Arc and Entertainment District Arc from 2021 through 2022.

And the story makes its way to a new location ─

Tanjiro’s journey leads him to the Swordsmith Village, where he reunites with two Hashira, members of the Demon Slayer Corps’ highest-ranking swordsmen - Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito and Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji. With the shadows of demons lurking near, a new battle begins for Tanjiro and his comrades.

You can watch the official dub trailer below:

Starting in February 2023, the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba -To the Swordsmith Village- World Tour kicked off with a worldwide theatrical screening in 95 countries and regions. In April, the TV adaptation of the Swordsmith Village Arc is confirmed to begin airing.

I know a lot of people like this stuff & I'm glad it makes them happy, but I don't understand the appeal at all.

@DocSpock - it is just another medium being used to tell a story. Some anime stories are so good that animation is the only way to do them justice. I never recommend anime but I think everyone should try a good series out atleast once! They come up with some really really creative stuff. It's not all pokemon and dragon ball.

@bbting -

Funny you mention pokemon/dragonball. My Grandson loves all that. I don't get it or like it. I have indeed tried a lot of the most popular anime & manga stuff over the decades because I know a lot of friends who liked that stuff, but none of it worked for me.

@DocSpock - I was never into anime, at all. Then my daughter wanted me to watch Demon Slayer with her, and I've been hooked on this series ever since.

It is its own style of storytelling, that isn't for everyone. But once you get past the cultural differences of storytelling, it really is quite enjoyable I must say.

@ymk700 -

I ear you. My Grandchildren have gotten me to watch lots of it, but I don't really like any of it though I don't tell them that.

I love Star Trek. The JJ Abrams machine killed it and Star Wars.

@DocSpock - Prefer manga/anime to comic books. The characters and stories are more author and auteur driven. The anime adaptations are usually 99% accurate to the source too so you can pick any medium. 1 author and his editors/assistants write a universe for a couple of years and ends it forever.

I hate comic books and tv shows that keep getting rebooted and rewritten every single year. The quality and interpretation of the source becomes so inconsistent for that reason.
