The Dragon Ball Super: Beerus enhanced remake is officially landing on Netflix in the U.S. on October 17, 2026, just days after its October 11 broadcast debut on Japan's Fuji TV.
While Crunchyroll hasn't formally chimed in yet, a same-day simulcast seems almost guaranteed. For a powerhouse IP like Dragon Ball, waiting weeks for an overseas launch would practically invite fan piracy.
Toei confirmed this revamped version will run for 19 episodes, tackling the Beerus, Golden Frieza, and Universe 6 Tournament arcs.
Whether the Future Trunks or Tournament of Power sagas get the same treatment remains up in the air, though given how much the original animation improved by then, Toei could very well decide that those arcs don't need a remake.
Additionally, Toei is also hard at work on a completely brand new Dragon Ball Super anime, Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol, which covers the events of the manga that take the story past the Tournament of Power arc.
It's currently unknown when this new anime will start but longtime DBZ fans are hopeful that it will start up right after the Beerus remake concludes.
Speaking back in April at the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026 event in Los Angeles, Dragon Ball executive producer Akio Iyoku explained the decision to remake the Beerus arc from the Dragon Ball Super anime, stating the goal is to, "express the world of Dragon Ball Super- Toriyama-sensei's creation, with more precision and accuracy.
"It's only been 10 years since 2015, but visual expression continues to evolve every day, and implementing those techniques was one of the goals of this production. Specifically, we added extensive new cuts, improved the art quality, re-rendered all cuts, and fully re-constructed the story."
