Comic book artist Ryan Stegman has unveiled an incredible new piece of artwork to mark the UK release of My Hero Academia: World Heroes' Mission. Funimation teamed up with the Venom artist to create a bespoke vision of anime icon Deku that effortlessly captures the comic book DNA of the My Hero Academia universe in Stegman's signature style.
"I’m a long time manga fan and My Hero Academia came onto my radar a few years back," Stegman said in a statement released alongside the full piece of artwork today. "Since then my kids and I have been obsessed and it’s an honor to get to work on the characters!"
My Hero Academia: World Heroes' Mission is out now in UK cinemas, and a number of events for the weekend have been announced today. As a Funimation brand ambassador, Stegman is set to do a live drawing of Deku on the StegmanAndFriends YouTube channel and ryanstegman Twitch channel with an interactive fan Q&A on Saturday 6th November, 4pm GMT/9am PT.
Funimation is also running a contest for an original pencil version of Stegman's artwork.
In My Hero Academia: World Heroes' Mission, U.A. High School students Izuku Midoriya, Shoto Todoroki, and Katsuki Bakugo face the greatest crisis in My Hero Academia history, with only two hours to save the world!
