@BlackBeltJones - Me too! My boys bought me tickets for my birthday last year. I hadn't seen the anime before (despite reporting on it), but it's on my list of shows to catch up on!

The series is great. Probably the best series I’ve seen in a while.

Is Demon Slayer a by-the-book shonen, or is there more to it?
I started Jujutsu Kaisen because everyone recommended it. It's good, but it didn't grab my attention enough in the first few episodes to continue.
All I hear about Demon Slayer is the insane animation, I'm not sure if that's enough to make me watch it though.

@Fares - Animation made me watch the 1st season.

The story and metaphysics made me read the whole thing.

@Fares - Is Demon Slayer a by-the-book shonen, or is there more to it?

I don't watch the cartoon but I read the comic and for the most part it follows the general "Weak loner obtains power, uses power to gain allies, has secret power that makes him exceptional" cliches pretty much every shonen story follows, but it's not done in an overblown way like Black Clover or My Hero Academia and the story itself carries it pretty well.

Ending is pretty unique for a shonen, though.

@Fogs - That's a bit reassuring to hear. If it at least has a good mythology like Fullmetal, I can give it a shot.

@Reeds2Much - Well I kinda like My Hero Academia so maybe I'll give it a watch once the Attack on Titan withdrawal starts.

I watch this on Hulu in the original Japanese with sub-titles. Can't stand to watch my anime dubbed. This and JoJo's Bizaare Adventures are my go-to right now.

I love Kimetsu. But I can't stand watching dubbed anime. Specially those that have so much to do with the japanese culture. The original voices convey very specific emotions.

I've seen season 1 but I need to see the movies and season 2 but it's great from what I've seen.

@marvel72, @Waddles - They adapted the Mugen Train film into several episodes, with some extra content and then started season 2, which is their Entertainment District Arc.
