Four months after the initial teaser trailer for WIT Studio's Suicide Squad Isekai anime was unveiled, a new look at the project has been revealed to the public, revealing the identities of the Task Force X's full roster outside of Harley Quinn and the Joker.

The latest teaser confirms that King Shark, Peacemaker, Deadshot, and Clayface will accompany Harley Quin on her otherworldly voyage. You can view the new footage below.

What do you think of this Suicide Squad line-up versus the 4-man team of Harley, Captain Boomerang, King Shark, and Deadshot that Rocksteady is unleashing in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League?

For those who are not anime enthusiasts, an isekai is a type of manga or anime in which characters are sent to a different world, typically one with a high fantasy theme. As they explore their new surroundings, characters usually find that they have received overpowering magical talents or special abilities.

The isekai concept has taken over anime and manga in recent years, with many new works aiming to challenge preconceptions. Examples include protagonists who discover they have no special powers or have been transported to become the new Demon King rather than the hero upon arriving in a new world.

Eri Osasda will be directing the Suicide Squad isekai series for WIT, which features a screenplay written by Tappei Nagatsuki and Eiji Umehara, character designs from Akira Amano and Naoto Hasodo, and music from Kenchiro Suehiro.

Previously, WB Japan executive producer Hiroyuki Omor revealed to Anime News Network that development on the project started roughly four years ago.

"Was it three or four years ago? Though I have a vague memory of who approached who first... Warner Bros. Japan wanted to make an anime for a DC Comic title and then approached asking if Wit Studio would be interested in the project. Then, after Wit Studio considered it, they decided they'd like to join the project. Producer [Sho] Ohtani was especially interested and tried to develop the idea of what they could make the anime look like. So that's how the project started."

The project is still without an official release date but DC Comics has confirmed that the Suicide Squad Isekai anime will be released at some point in 2024. Will you be watching the series when it drops? Let us know in the comment section below.

Odd The Suicide Squad popular and I just missed the memo? They are getting a massive push while other characters just sit there with so much potential getting no attention whatsoever.

@Knightrider - Green Lantern Corp to WB/DC: AM I INVISIBLE TO YOU?!

Seriously, GL is one of the best franchise they have and they're putting the suicide squad over it.

But lets be honest, only reason Suicide Squad is popular is because of Harley.

Who at DC likes the Suicide Squad this much? Multiple movies, games and animated shows, while everyone on the JL (besides Batman), basically get ignored. Like, the Suicide Squad aren't even liked that much.

@kazuma - They're not pushing Suicide Squad, they're pushing Harley, who is one of the most popular DC characters right now. And Harley works better in a group than solo.

@EgoEgor - Felt like nobody talked about her until the movie released and made her a hot topic cosplay dream.

@kazuma - I think she was popular before Margot, though I'm sure that helped. She's pretty much DC's Deadpool.

@EgoEgor - but it does show WB lack of faith pushing their other heroes/villains

@DocSpock - I mean anime is huge these days and plenty of it great, stuff like Suicide Squad or maybe Doom Patrol is ripe for that format if done well. If they tried to do Justice League type stuff in anime style I'd say no to that but this could work.

@Apophis71 -

Anime is huge among the people who like it. But it's pretty narrow. Lots of comic book people go for it, so it gets a lot of attention on this site.

But most of the general public & movie going audience don't care at all about the big head giant eyed Japanese anime stuff.

@DocSpock - If talking mainstream BO in America, yeh not huge, but the growth in anime on streaming along with Manga comics in the West has been huge over the past couple decades and that trailor aint even English dubbed so US market share is kinda besides the point when your talking more the global market and primarily the Asian one. I mean folk here keep going on about how Manga comics are out selling Western style comics in America so I'd assume similar patterns are emerging for Anime over Western style comicbook based animations too but could be wrong. I only know I've seen way more new anime appearing on most streaming platforms these past few years at least than Western style ones.

Oh no. Manga.

I am intimately aware of the manga invasion that began invading and damaging the comic store industry in the 70s.
