Avengers: Doomsday D23 Trailer Sees Doctor Doom Raise An Army; Hugh Jackman Confirmed For MCU Return?

Marvel Studios has released a new Avengers: Doomsday trailer, spotlighting Doctor Doom, his relationship with the Fantastic Four, and the threat Victor Von Doom poses to the Multiverse.

As expected, Marvel Studios brought Avengers: Doomsday to D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, and a new trailer—described as a "Special Look"—has just been released.

The sneak peek was revealed onstage by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, Academy Award winner Robert Downey Jr. (Victor von Doom/Doctor Doom), Chris Evans (Steve Rogers) and Hayley Atwell (Peggy Carter).

This is the same trailer that previously played exclusively in Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con, and it puts the spotlight squarely on Victor. As expected, he lost his wife and son, which has pushed him down a dark path that could spell, well, doom for the Multiverse.

The villain makes short work of Thor and raises an army of Sentinels to take the fight to the Avengers, X-Men, and Fantastic Four. Crucially, the trailer also confirms that Doctor Doom hails from Earth-828, the same reality as Marvel's First Family.

Additional tickets went on sale earlier today, and this latest trailer confirms that several recent leaks (including an unfinished version of the Multiverse's Mightiest Heroes battling Doom-controlled Sentinels) were the real deal.

The Avengers: Doomsday portion of the Disney Showcase panel opened with a message from Deadpool & Wolverine star Hugh Jackman. In the video, which can be viewed below, Ryan Reynolds (who is off-camera) attempts to force the actor to convince Kevin Feige that they should be added to the movie's cast.

Between this and Reynolds' surprise appearance at Comic-Con, we can safely assume that they'll both appear in the movie this December (which has been rumoured for several months now).

Check out the new Avengers: Doomsday trailer below.

In Avengers: Doomsday, beloved heroes from three distinct universes will be set on a deadly collision course and face an existential threat unlike anything they’ve ever encountered.

Avengers: Doomsday stars Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Winston Duke, Tom Hiddleston, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Paul Rudd, and Robert Downey Jr. Wyatt Russell, Simu Liu, Tenoch Huerta Mejia, Mabel Cadena, Florence Pugh, Danny Ramirez, David Harbour, Hannah John-Kamen, Lewis Pullman, India Rose Hemsworth, and Wesley Holloway all make their Avengers franchise debuts.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps leads Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn join them, as do X-Men franchise stars Kelsey Grammer, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, James Marsden, with Deadpool & Wolverine star Channing Tatum.

The Russo Brothers direct Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars from a screenplay by Stephen McFeely, with whom they previously collaborated on the Avengers and Captain America franchises. The movie is produced by Kevin Feige, Louis D'Esposito, and Jonathan Schwartz, with Callum McDougall serving as executive producer.

Avengers: Doomsday is set to be released on December 18.

I take back everything negative I might have said regarding RDJ being cast as Doom. Way better trailer than the last one, too.

Don't care for the C-list characters but not bad. I was hoping Doom would give more punch to that speech like in the Comic-Con leaked trailer.

Way better trailer, but still not feeling anything particularly strong toward it. Not getting excited by anything I'm seeing here.

That said, LOVED Brand New Day. Can't wait to get the steelbook for that one.

WAY better trailer than the first one. Should have led with this. It gave a better sense of more personal stakes. Excited for this!

@HelloBoysImBack - Steve, Thor, Cyclops, most of the X Men and maybe the FF are the only heavy hitters surrounded by the D listers. Still, it was a great trailer IMO

Who cares? The MCU is doomed! These new X-Men castings have destroyed all hope for a solid reboot.

@FireGunn - Height doesn't matter (See Tony and Steve face to face in every frame), where the actor is from is irrelevant? Ethnicity also doesn't matter. Same skin tone as Rogue. Seems comic accurate to me so far.
FireGunn
FireGunn - 8/15/2026, 4:48 AM
@Loohnutick - Height does matter when you're that short. I don't want to see a fatass play a superhero and I don't want to see a midget play a Superhero (Unless it's comic accurate). Shira Hass (The black widow in Captain America 4) is the same height as Inde and every single bit of action she got was awful and took me out the movie. I legit can't take it seriously and it actively takes me out of the movie. Her shade/skin tone is multiple tones darker than Rogue and she's observably latina and non white.

I also find it incredibly hard to believe she'll be able to naturally pull off a southern accent. I don't care how good of an actor/actress you are. You should have some resemblance to the character you're playing or else they might as well completely change the character (High Evolutionary for example in GOTG 3). There's a reason Tom Hiddelston wasn't cast as Thor despite being 10x the actor that Hemsworth is. At the end of the day, these are superhero movies. They aren't winning any oscars for acting and they don't need to. There are about 5 different actors I can point out in a similar age range that fit Rogue better than Inde.
