Avengers: Doomsday Hot Toys Figure Reveals Best Look Yet At Chris Hemsworth's New Thor Costume

Hot Toys has revealed a new Thor figure based on his appearance in this December's Avengers: Doomsday, offering our best look yet at the God of Thunder's new Ultimate Universe-inspired costume.

Thor: Ragnarok put a comedic spin on Chris Hemsworth's God of Thunder in 2017, but the Odinson got serious again in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame

Then, in 2022's Thor: Love and Thunder, filmmaker Taika Waititi delivered a full-blown MCU comedy, much to many fans' chagrin. Even Hemsworth has said that the Asgardian needs to be taken back to the drawing board, and that's the plan in this December's Avengers: Doomsday.

Thor is once again set to shed his comedy persona to battle Doctor Doom, the greatest threat to the Multiverse. With that comes a new costume, and we get our best look yet at it thanks to this incredible new 1/6th scale figure from Hot Toys.

The Russo Brothers have stuck to what works, going with a design that's not too different from Avengers: Infinity War. Thor has cut his hair again and is clad mostly in black, resembling the Ultimate version of the hero. The cape, however, is a welcome addition.

"I [feel] like the character had earned his seat at the table," Hemsworth previously said. "Before that, I felt like the new guy. I remember sitting around on Doomsday with all these new characters, people in their first Avengers film, and thinking, 'I have a bit of agency here. I should have a bigger voice or opinion as the character.'"

The actor continued, "Owning that a little more, he does feel like one of the elders. He’s 2,000 years old or something, so we tried to play into that more than we had before."

Faced with an overwhelming multiverse catastrophe in Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday, Thor unleashes his full godly power to turn the tide of battle. To offer fans the definitive battleground centerpiece, Hot Toys is proud to present the 1/6th scale Thor Collectible Figure (Deluxe Version), packed with an array of additional lightning effect accessories and a cinematic diorama base!

Capturing Chris Hemsworth’s battle-hardened appearance as Thor, the newly crafted head sculpt showcases fine facial features and a sculpted textured crop short hairstyle. The portrait is further enhanced with separate rolling eyeballs coated in a UV luminous reflective effect, allowing collectors to recreate Thor’s god-like gaze with piercing intensity.

Standing approximately 32 cm tall, the figure is built with a muscular body featuring seamless silicone arms, allowing fans to recreate dynamic battle poses with natural physique aesthetics. Thor is draped in meticulously tailored Asgardian armor featuring a torso armor with interchangeable bronze-colored and translucent blue lightning effect discs that will also illuminate via USB-powered LED lighting. A wired red cape offers full dynamic poseability, paired with detailed bracers, textured pants, and long boots. Equipped to confront apocalyptic odds, Thor wields both the reconstructed cracked Mjølnir and the formidable Stormbreaker, both with an LED light-up function.

The Deluxe Version exclusively takes this display to a grand cinematic scale, featuring a battle-damaged Sentinel’s head diorama base equipped with USB-powered LED illumination. Complete with a large lightning surge diorama piece, three base-attachable lightning effects, and four additional lightning effects that can be freely attached to the figure, allowing collectors to recreate the electrifying battlefield moment with Thor and Doctor Doom as seen in the trailer.

That's really bad ass. If I wasn't homeless and jobless, I'd buy this with money from my job and display it in my home.

Is he going to die since they're getting to Ultimate Thor? Are they so focused on making money even Thor won't get more movies? He could be in a Mutant Massacre adaptation maybe?
