AVENGERS 4: Evidence Mounts That The Movie Will Play Around With Time As Evangeline Lilly Compares It To LOST

Speculation continues running rampant about what we should expect in Avengers 4 and time travel remains one of the most popular theories. Set photos featuring present-day characters meeting The Avengers era Captain America have seemingly confirmed that will be happening and now Ant-Man and The Wasp star Evangeline Lilly has made some remarks which also point to that being the case.

"When I heard about Infinity War [and Avengers 4] and the direction that they’re heading, I did have this moment of realizing, oh, wow, there’s a bit of a déjà vu for me with the Lost franchise," she reveals before dropping perhaps the biggest clue yet about where the Marvel sequel will be taking us.

"We are hitting that [Lost] season 4 space," she added. "Where everything’s about to shift, and you’re about to lose the solid ground underneath you. And [Ant-Man and the Wasp], of course, will play a part in that." As you may recall, the series featured a number of flashforwards and time-travel shenanigans during season four which points to Avengers 4 taking us to some unexpected places.

@natebest is there any reason I keep getting Wendy's ads popping up on the screen

@blitzburgh - Have you been to Wendy's lately? It could be "Big Brother" checking up on you :P

On a serious note, I have no idea. I saw some yesterday, but haven't seen any today. Are they the banner ads, or something different? Screenshot might help me figure things out.

I REALLY hope this means we're getting polar bears in Avengers 4

What if Infinity War was an alternate reality and that one positive outcome Doctor Strange identified was the 616 universe?

PINOYFAN - 6/14/2018, 4:45 AM
@lawndart - 616 is an entire universe of its own not an outcome of any universe. The Eye won't see it unless the weilder chooses to.

@PINOYFAN - I was thinking more of a survivor coming from what was shown in the movie into the "616" MCU tp prevent it from occurring. Basically that what was shown in AIW was not the MCU but would impact the MCU in A4.
PINOYFAN
PINOYFAN - 6/15/2018, 12:31 AM
@lawndart - First of all, 616 is not a term for every “main marvel universe”, as much as I know MCU is designated as Earth-199999 in the vast Marvel multiverse. Second, that will ruin the stakes and ramifications IW caused to the MCU. How would a survivor of another universe going to another cause any impact?

@PINOYFAN - Not trying to write a fan fiction piece, just thought it was an interesting idea. Similar story lines have been done in the past, albeit in the books and not in the MCU.

All I know is if this ends with everyone waking up in church and they were dead the whole time I'm out.
jmorin

@DeathSeal - they weren't dead the whole time. The church is them all meeting up again after they all have died (separately and at different times in their own lives). Then, they all move on together.

@DeathSeal - How after all these years do people still not realize that everything that happened on the island actually happened? LOST was really not that hard to follow, c'mon.
VaderNation
VaderNation - 6/14/2018, 7:16 PM
@DeathSeal - Clearly you didn't pay attention to the show at all. They were not dead the whole time. Only the flash sideways was a purgatory of sorts. They actually say multiple times that everything that happened on the island happened.

What I want to know is if they're gonna change history, most drastically the history of Guardians, will Vol. 3 about them trying to get back together but they simply can't because they don't share the same experiences as the original timeline? Like they really really want to be “back” together but they're bigger jerks from before they met than after. In the end they reconcile like a good ol' lighthearted GotG that we all know and love.

Crazy thing about LOST is that (spoiler) with all the time travel shenanigans, the timelines were pretty airtight. I believe the only paradox on the show was an intentional one, involving a pocket watch which seemed to have no origin, having been passed from future to past in a loop.

I've never watched LOST but to me it doesn't sound like she's necessarily talking about time travel.

I mean, she even clarifies by saying that "Everything is about shift and we are about to lose the solid ground beneath us."

To me that is really only her saying that this movie is going to be the beginning of big change for the MCU. Not necessarily that its being caused by time travel.

Don't make it too convoluted. I don't want to think too hard at an Avengers movie.
