Chris Evans has sent out a Tweet confirming that he's officially finished filming his scenes as Steve Rogers/Captain America for Marvel's still untitled Avengers 4, thanking his fans and colleagues in the process.

Evans has brought life to The Sentinel of Liberty for almost a decade in The MCU, and his take on the iconic character is widely considered to be among the best superhero portrayals of all time.

Is this really the last we'll see of Evans as Cap?

Well, even if the leader of Earth's Mightiest Heroes doesn't meet his end in this movie - which is a distinct possibility - the actor's contract is up, so this Tweet really does come across like a final farewell one way or the other.
