Avengers: Endgame premieres in theaters worldwide in just two and a half months, and we now have our first official synopsis for the highly anticipated conclusion to the first decade of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Courtesy of Disney's
Australian website, the synopsis teases a universe in ruin due to the devastating impact of Thanos wiping out half of all life at the end of
Avengers: Infinity War. It is therefore up to the surviving members of both the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy to team-up and restore
balance order to the universe.
You can check out the official synopsis for
Avengers: Endgame below:
After the devastating events of Avengers: Infinity War (2018), the universe is in ruins due to the efforts of the Mad Titan, Thanos. With the help of remaining allies, the Avengers must assemble once more in order to undo Thanos' actions and restore order to the universe once and for all, no matter what consequences may be in store.
As we know, the remaining allies mentioned above will consist of: Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow, Hawkeye Ronin, War Machine, Ant-Man, Nebula and Rocket, along with newcomer Captain Marvel.
While the synopsis does indicate that the universe is out of control following Thanos' actions, there is no mention of a greater threat - something that various rumors have claimed would play a prominent role in the film.
However, there is one line in particular that will likely stand out to fans: "no matter what consequences may be in store." This will fuel further speculation that the movie will see one or more of our favorite heroes paying the ultimate price for saving the world by the time the credits role.
