"Because this is The Avengers."

A tear formed in my eye. Good answer indeed. I think after Captain America I'm just going to go into hibernation until May 2012.

BRING IT ON!!

Thanks, all. I have to tell you, Feige told me totally jazzed when he said, "Because this is The Avengers." The funny thing is, if you've spoken to Joss you'd know that he sounded EXACTLY like Joss. It was pretty funny.

Awesome :)

I wish whenever I hear Marvel representatives talk about movies they wouldn't reference the X-Men or Spiderman films. I know Kevin Feige produced them but I try not to associate them with the independent Marvel Studios movies.

i'm jizzin' right now... thinkin bout scarjo and cobie in the same shower scene together...naaa that'd be a different version of avengers.

anyway...with Whedon doing the Avengers (umm...never mind), it'd be interesting if DCE would then hire Abrams to d-direct JLA the movie (perhaps in 2013 or 14)...

those two somehow have been made to be this adversary fan-choice filmmakers. two titans of this genre. though, i gotta say...i think Abrams has accomplished a lot more in the past decades. Whedon we got Toy Story (he was ONE of the many writers), Buffy (the tv series, of course), firefly or serendipity (not flying off outside the geekdom), so...yeah, that's about it i guess. MY favorite Joss Whedon work is his comic book effort in Astonishing X-Men...

With Abrams, we got Alias, Lost, (for the girls) Felicity, then on to the big screen, the underrated Mission: Impossible III, Cloverfield (he's only producing, or executive producing), Star Trek reboot and the upcoming Super 8 (looks promising)...WOW!!!

Now, if Whedon does The Avengers the way he did Astonishing X-Men series (with a lot more epic actions in it), then HE'll be my numero uno from the two.
