We previously heard that Spider-Man will likely be Avengers: The Kang Dynasty's lead, but with rumours now swirling about Tom Holland's web-slinger also taking centre stage in Avengers: Secret Wars...well, the next few years are shaping up to be an absolute blast for this character's fans.
Common sense says we'll be seeing more of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's respective Peter Parkers down the line, but which other Variants should join them?
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse featured literally hundreds of them, but there are a handful of specific comic book, animated, and previously unseen Spider-Men we think would be a perfect fit for the Multiverse Saga's final chapter (whether it's for a cameo or supporting role).

8. Zombie Hunter Spider-Man
Spider-Man being part of Disney+'s What If...? was a pleasant surprise, even if Tom Holland wasn't on hand to lend his voice to the character. Instead of wearing his MCU costume, this Peter - who hailed from a world ravaged by Marvel Zombies - is decked out in the suit worn by his Disney Parks counterpart.
That would be a cool look to see on screen, and after this episode's big cliffhanger ending, we think it's worth revisiting this hero's story in live-action.
The obvious direction to head in here is to reveal that Spider-Man also tragically fell to the virus which laid waste to his world. However, as he was last seen with the Mind Stone, what if the teenager was able to keep his intelligence and remains a hero? (albeit an undead one). Now that would be fun to see.
7. Peter B. Parker
Peter B. Parker took a backseat in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, but this version of the web-slinger remains one of our all-time favourites, particularly after his memorable story arc in Into the Spider-Verse.
In many ways the breakout character in the 2018 movie, we'd love to see this older Peter swing into action alongside his young daughter. The comic books have rarely followed the hero into his 30s and 40s (and what happens when the job becomes too much for him), though we'll admit that this might be too close to Marvel Studios' plans for Tobey Maguire's Spidey Variant.
Regardless, Jake Johnson could quite easily play a live-action version of this animated fan favourite, and while we can picture this cameo being a comedic one, it'd still be badass to see him leap into action, even briefly.
6. PlayStation Spider-Man
In terms of sheer brand synergy, this arguably makes the most sense. Sony's PlayStation games have been a huge hit across both the PS4 and PS5, with Yuri Lowenthal's Peter Parker definitely striking a chord with fans. It would be incredibly easy to have this Variant appear as he could be brought to life with visual effects and never unmask (meaning Lowenthal can voice him).
Ensuring this doesn't come across like a shameless plug is essential, but if Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse was any indication, there's no need to be concerned.
The video game Spider-Man deserves the chance to shine as does Lowenthal. We're not saying this needs to be a lead role, but considering the fact this Peter Parker has experience with the Multiverse and is now instantly recognisable, it'll be a shame for him not to be featured in some way, shape, or form.
5. FOX's Spider-Man
We could have filled this feature with Variants from Spider-Man's animated adventures, but for us, it had to be Christopher Daniel Barnes' version from the 1990s series on FOX.
Spectacular Spider-Man obviously remains beloved, but this show was a huge part of what made the wall-crawler so popular with children prior to Sam Raimi's movie being released in 2002. It's also a series that remains as beloved today as when it first aired, and in terms of sheer nostalgia, this cameo is a must.
It would be simple to recreate this Spidey with visual effects, and hearing Barnes' voice will result in longtime fans, quite frankly, losing their sh*t. This Spider-Man even travelled through the Multiverse to alternate realities so it makes sense on a number of levels (surely Kevin Feige loves this show as much as X-Men: The Animated Series?).
4. Miles Morales
This has to happen, right? Miles Morales' popularity is nearing - and possibly exceeding - Peter Parker's, and after his mention in Spider-Man: Homecoming, it feels like his live-action debut is inevitable. We're not sure which version of the character we'd see and an argument could be made that even just a visual cameo might be enough.
On the other hand, Spidey meeting the kid who ultimately replaces him when he falls in battle would be a potentially hard-hitting moment and an effective way of teasing the future of the Spider-Man mantle (regardless of whether it's in the MCU or whatever Sony calls is Marvel Universe these days).
Whatever the case may be, it will be a missed opportunity not to do something with Miles here, though it's previously been rumoured that the plan is for him to be introduced as Peter's neighbour in Spider-Man 4.
3. Leonardo DiCaprio As Spider-Man
Quite a few actors have narrowly missed out on playing Spider-Man on screen, but as we started thinking about a huge A-List cameo for Avengers: Secret Wars, there was one name that instantly came to mind.
Leonard DiCaprio almost played Peter Parker in a bizarre-sounding movie helmed by James Cameron in the 1990s, and a Variant unmasking to reveal the actor's face would be absolutely nuts. After all, we can't imagine Leo ever taking on a leading role in an MCU movie - especially not if Martin Scorsese has been in his ear - but a brief cameo referencing an early near-miss in his career might be something he'd consider.
We're certainly not banking on that, but you have to admit this would be a satisfying moment to behold in what's sure to be a star-studded finale to the Multiverse Saga.
2. Spider-Girl
Sony Pictures is still supposedly developing a Spider-Woman movie with Olivia Wilde, but seeing as Jessica Drew still hasn't been cast, it's hard to say whether the plan is for it to still happen after next year's Madame Web.
Still, if Loki can have a female Variant in Sylvie, why not take this opportunity to bring Spider-Girl to live-action? We are, of course, referring to Mayday Parker, and while we don't anticipate her making more than just a brief cameo, Peter meeting his and MJ's future daughter would blow his mind.
MJ no longer remembers who Peter is, and if that's going to remain the status quo moving forward, it would only make Spidey meeting their daughter from another timeline even more impactful.
1. Future Spider-Man
We mentioned Peter B. Parker, but what if the MCU's Peter gets a glimpse into his own future? Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy took that version of the hero to college, as did The Amazing Spider-Man movies...however, that was barely touched on, and neither of them ever got to grow up.
Holland's Spidey is likely heading to college in the next trilogy, but we'd love to see him get a glimpse of his future beyond that whether it's as the next Tony Stark (yuck) or a high school science teacher.
Visual effects to age the actor up would be all that's needed here, and if Peter gets to see what his heroic future looks like, it could ensure he stays on a path which cements his legacy as one of the MCU's greatest heroes.
