This is my first article on this site and i would would to share with everyone my ideas on how the avengers might go down this summer.

First off I would like to say how I love how Marvel is keeping the mystery aliens under wraps and how so many ideas are floating around. I was reading different articles on this site and even reviewing the movies of the Marvel Cinematic Universe even the recent trailer. I have came to the conclusion of Annihilus and the Annihilation wave.

The end of Thor Loki falls into some type of portal, but didnt fall into Jotunheim which Loki was destroying since Thor destroyed the biforst bridge. To me I feel like Loki fell into the negative zone which make sense since it was a emtpy portal hole.

Nick fury builds a team of heroes mainly to take down the Hulk which was General Ross problem "end of Hulk" but a unexpected enemy merges and the avengers have to work as a team to save earth.. Loki gets hold of the cosmic control rod which has massive power "reason why hes untouchable by avengers goin head to head with each one individually"... In the movie Loki gets caught by sheild purposely to get a hold on the cube " Controling Eric" to open the negative zone so Annihilus can bring his wave to earth.

The Annihilation wave it consist of Aliens from the negative zone who are very loyal to Annihilus and also has a fleet of battle ships which looks very similar to what we seen the aliens flying on in the trailer as well as that huge creature at the end of the trailer can be some type of last resort for the army.

So there it goes my prediction.. what you guys think? We have about two months left to see what happens.

Marvel Studios presents in association with Paramount Pictures “Marvel’s The Avengers”--the super hero team up of a lifetime, featuring iconic Marvel super heroes Iron Man, the Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow. When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, Director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. Spanning the globe, a daring recruitment effort begins.

Starring Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L. Jackson, & directed by Joss Whedon from a screenplay by Joss Whedon, “Marvel’s The Avengers” is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series “The Avengers,” first published in 1963 and a comics institution ever since. Prepare yourself for an exciting event movie, packed with action and spectacular special effects, when “Marvel’s The Avengers” assemble on May 4, 2012. The film is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. In addition to "Marvel's The Avengers," Marvel Studios will release a slate of films based on the Marvel characters including "Iron Man 3" on May 3, 2013!; and “Thor 2” on November 15, 2013.

Nice write up but they've cleared it that Hulk is not a villian, the new trailer even confirmed that. The Comic con footage between Banner and widow clearly stated it and you can probably find the article still on here for evidence. Widow informs him they need his HELP because they want him to help with the cosmic cube. When she slides the phone over w/the pic he says "What does he want me to do? Swallow it?". Why would Fury assemble them to go after Hulk when they already want Banner's help, do you think that would seem very shady to him, because obviously he is the same person, hmm. I think maybe we shouldnt speculate why they are assembled because that is what makes up rumors and gets ppl confused

@ jj2g thanks for informing tht sadly i did not attend comic con so i had no clue about that scene.. Yea you are right maybe we shouldnt speculate so early but it was worth a shot lol

Its crazy how much of a secret Marvel has been able to keep this movie. The actors weren't joking when they said that there were snipers ready to pull the trigger. LOL Yet again Marvel makes all my childhood dreams come true.

I posted this in another article on this topic...

Thanos will not be in the main film. An insider here on CBM has pointed towards the alien army being of some relation to Thanos. Kevin Feige has declared the alien army as "not impactful" to the rest of Marvel Cinematic Universe. Annihilus and N-Zone Insectoids are huge. Annihilation is a huge story arc, beyond The Avengers.

Loki's army is fodder. A generic, alien horde, soldiers that are just a number. Why hide the identity of this army? Why give up toys, costumes, and other merchandising to hide the villains identity? Does it really matter if General Audience come in knowing the villains to be alien shapeshifters or robotic bug-like creatures? No. Marvel's hiding this for the fans.

And that's it. Marvel's hiding it for the fans. The Avenger's antagonist are simply marketed as an invading army. What Marvel is trying to hide is something only the fans will catch. A character who opens the many doors to the Cosmic Side of the MCU. Thanos.

They, themselves, are not impactful, but their associations are. Marvel have brandished the Infinity Gauntlet too often for it not to have a presence in this production. Thanos is also associated with the Cosmic Cube, maybe even more so than the Skrulls are, which some people underplay.

These aliens have blue skin, and golden gladiator-like armor. So does Thanos. I understand that some you are put off by this but I've had to accept this as the truth. I don't like Thanos and didn't understand why people wanted him in an Avengers movie. I never associated him with The Avengers. But, fact is, Marvel's big goal with The Avengers is to go cosmic.

Post-credits: Desolate Moon. A figure sits, almost lifeless. We see it's silhouette. He is all that remains of an army. Reaches for something- we can't see. With it's last bit of energy, it places on- The Infinity Gauntlet. It's gems illuminate the abysmal darkness of space. There is hope for him. Today, he begins his conquest- for the galaxy.

LOKI and MINIONS OF THANOS.

No Thanos, though.

Damn good article for your first! I agree on everything, but the Hulk. I think Loki will come and try to take over Germany, hence the people bowing, Hawkeye, Widow, SHIELD and Cap will confront him, and capture him, Thor will learn of his brother being taken hostage, and he will come to Earth to get him back, Avengers will barely kick his ass, lock him up too, Loki escapes, they let Thor go, and recruit Banner to research the mysterious cosmic cube. Then, the Army comes with Loki and then, well... AVENGERS, ASSEMBLE!

3D Dude, that would be sick! But I hope Thanos, end credits, if he is the mystery villain, would confront Loki, like bring him to his Skull shaped astroid ship and tell him, "We made a deal, I give you my army, which you vapidly disposed of! And in return, you give me the last Gem I need to complete The Infinity Gauntlet, and win the affections of Death!" One could only hope!

@3D you have a point there i know annilhilus is big in the comic doesnt mean it has to be big in a movie you know how they change things around and plus if they do reveal thanos at the end wouldnt it be weird we gotta wait for avengers 2 to see him i think after credits for avengers is goin to lead into ironman 3 but dont get me wrong i do like your idea.
