Female superheroes are finally beginning to get their due in Hollywood, and with the X-Men and Fantastic Four on their way to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, not to mention characters like Black Cat and Spider-Woman coming to the SUMC, there are a lot of possibilities for an actress as talented as
Blumhouse's Fantasy Island's Lucy Hale.
When we caught up with her to discuss that horror movie, we asked if playing a superhero in a Marvel or DC Comics movie is something that's on her radar she would be interested in.
"[Laughs] Absolutely!" Hale confirms. "I think that I've been really lucky with all the characters I've played because they're all really strong and independent women, but definitely. I would love to do something where I could do all my own stunts. That would be really fun."
As for whether there are any characters, in particular, she would like to play, the
Katy Keene star explained that she's simply looking for new opportunities, including in the superhero genre.
"I think I'm just at a point in my career where I want to do things I haven't done before and I want to challenge myself and do different things, and really surprise people and maybe even myself," she explained. "I want to do everything from a musical to a really edgy drama, and I love a romcom, so I guess you could say I'm really open-minded to it all."
