In an interview with Newsarama, Marvel's Head of Television Jeph Loeb has talked more about the planned small screen spin-off of Marvel's The Avengers, currently titled Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D. Their chat took place BEFORE the announcement that Clark Gregg will return as 'Agent Coulson', but he does still drop a few interesting titbits about the approach that they're taking to the series. For comic book fans, he also comments on wrapping up his 10-part Wolverine epic with Simone Bianchi and reveals what we should expect from his 'Nova' story in Marvel NOW! Point One. There's also an amusing exchange which takes place with DC's Geoff Johns about "NOW!" versus "New"! Click on the image below to view the video.

Sooo, is this going to be a show taking place not only separate from the Avengers/MCU continuity but also before any of it since Agent Coulson will be in it?

Jeph Loeb kinda reminds me of George Lucas. Once an artist, now an overconfident hack. Fortunately, there are enough forward thinking on this show, that they should counteract whatever negative influence he may contribute.

Loeb sort of comes off as an arrogant jerk in this interview. Also, I'm not 100 percent confident about what he's going to do with Nova.

@adventurer
over confident hack really? yeah the man hasnt been the same since his son died, but over confident hack hes not. He might be phoning it in from time to time, but over confidence is the least of his problems. The guy has crazy awards and nominations under his belt, and butt hurt fans hate him because he took rulk on a smash your favorite hero/villian tour across the MU.

New 52 all the way... The number 0's were great (I purchased Batman and Detective Comics, I can't wait to get Nightwing, Batgirl, Green Lantern, Justice League and Wonder Woman). Ask me how many Marvel Comics I've been buying and reading lately... answer: NONE.
