As Kang takes center stage in the Multiverse Saga, the MCU will formally introduce him to viewers in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Kang is the antagonist played by Majors. Along the journey, he will undoubtedly see many MCU heroes, but there is one original Avenger with whom he would most like to appear on screen.

In an interview with Lifehacker Australia, Jonathan Majors admitted that he is a fan of Robert Downey Jr. and that he would be thrilled to see him return to the Iron Man role for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. Majors also noted that it would be intriguing to see how the two characters would interact.

Majors went on to say, "This is like a Robert Downey Jr. day, he just keeps popping in [to my head]... Like, I know he's an OG. I mean, he's one of the originals. I'm just such a huge fan of him as an actor. I think what he did with Iron Man was such a gift to the culture at large. I would love to be across from him on screen to see how our philosophies, acting-wise and character-wise, just personally, match up."

The tremendous actor continued with, "You know, I find him to be such a fascinating artist, which is why Iron Man is so fascinating... His portrayal of Iron Man is so fascinating and he represents a very clear world view and energy of the Avengers. And I think Kang represents a different era."

The conclusion of the Ant-Man trilogy might have enormous implications for the rest of the MCU, opening up a plethora of options for Phase 5 prior to Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars. Majors hopes that it might bring Iron Man back.

Kang the Conqueror faced off against Iron Man in the comics several times over the years, with their first encounter occurring in Avengers #8 in 1964. In this issue, Kang travels back in time to the 20th century and battles the Avengers, including Iron Man, in an effort to conquer Earth. Kang returned to face Iron Man and the Avengers on several occasions, including in Avengers #69-71 in 1969, where he attempted to take over the Earth by manipulating time, and in Avengers Forever #1-12 in 1998-1999, where he battled the Avengers across time and space. In each encounter, Iron Man used his intelligence, technology, and quick thinking to help defeat Kang and save the world.

Although Kang's entry to the MCU has been long in coming, Loki's epilogue provided only a fleeting glimpse of the character. Before Quantumania opens in theaters on February 17, if you haven't seen that episode yet, this is the ideal moment to do so.

I really hope RDJ doesn't come back. But if he does, I sure hope its ONLY for Secret Wars. I can accept any and all inclusions of characters and actors in that one. But let's not over use the technique before or after that movie. And please, let the multiverse end there.

@mountainman - I hope he does,Ironheart Vs Kang doesn't have the same wow factor.

@marvel72 - For Secret Wars yes. But I almost want to see the Avengers beaten by Kang in Kang Dynasty, then they have to recruit from other universes for secret wars and then find a variant tony to join up.

@mountainman - Yeah I get that, like a team made up of the likes of Ms.Marvel,Ironheart,Falcon Captain America,Captain Marvel, Shuri, Ant-Man and so on.

All get their asses kicked, then they travel the multiverse and get the originals back.

@marvel72 - Unfortunately that means Kang Dynasty will likely not be as good since it’ll be without the A players.

@mountainman - you are correct, RDJ should only come back for Secret Wars and after all the multiverse/variant stuff is over with all that should be standing are recast variants of Iron Man, Cap, etc.

@IronMan616 - Yeah hopefully they do that. We really need Stark and Rogers in the MCU to interact with the mutants and Fantastic Four. Hopefully Secret Wars leads to a soft reboot where they keep some things about the MCU and reset others. We need Iron Man and Rodgers Captain America. If they build to an AvX event as the culmination of the next saga, I really want to see Rodgers and Summers face off.

@mountainman - Tony Stark should come back, don't care who's pretending they are him.

@Corruptor -Ideally someone a bit smoother than Downey's nervy take on the part. Guy looks like he has ants in his pants all the time.

@Corruptor - I hope RDJ comes back for one more ride in Secret Wars, with all the other legacy actors. Tons of Fox-Men, Tim Story FF, tons of legacy characters as variants.

Then I hope for a recasted alternate take on Iron Man post-Secret Wars.

God I'm so hyped Ant Man 3 is basically here. Finally something to get stoned and geek out to! I love my favorite Pym couple and I couldn't be happier MCU Hank isn't a abusive prick in the MCU.

@McMurdo - You couldnt be happier they watered down Hanks character? So you must have also been happy when they made Tony Stark a green juicer instead of a alcoholic and Hulk a calm soy boy. MCU land of sunshine and rainbows and pg humor

Iron Lad makes the most sense. Although it would be cool to see a montage of various Kangs in different universes killing their version of various teams such as the Fantastic 4, Avengers, X-Men, Heroes for Hire, Ghost Rider, and more.

After all the phase is done. At the very end of the last movie. Whatever phase and movie they end with. I BET, theyre gonna bring every character back to life. Is my theory.

@BeNice123 - They are rebooting the entire MCU, that's obvious, the problem is that they seem to be fixed on bringing back the original actors...

@TheHumanSpider2 - more than likely, but hopefully not.
