Kevin Feige Alludes To A Spoilerific Cosmic Weapon Appearing In The Avengers?

Although it was outed in Marvel's THOR movie, recent, yet outdated, info suggests that a spoilerific weapon, and it's long-time rumored villain may appear in The Avengers!

Earlier this year, Marvel Studios' president of production, Kevin Feige, was honored with The Visionary Award at the 37th Annual Saturn Awards. And according to All Things Fangirl, with a heads up from the ever-reliable RimBreaks, we got yet another hint that a particular cosmic weapon, and it's long-time rumored villainous wielder, may be appearing in The Avengers.

During Kevin Feige’s video acceptance speech from the set of The Avengers, we got a little sneak peak at something I don’t believe has been previously alluded to anywhere. At two different points in the video, a PA walked through the background, trying to find a place to put a giant gold glove amongst all the other Avengers props laying around. At one point, Feige turned around and exclaimed, “Put that away, it’s a secret!” Cue hum of the audience, trying to figure out how the Infinity Gauntlet will fit into The Avengers.

Considering we've covered countless rumors that the Infinity Gauntlet, or rather it's holder, the mad titan Thanos, would be appearing in The Avengers, it's seemingly safe to say they'll both have some sort of role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It's even speculated that one of the Gauntlet's gems will be used on the magic weapon of the film's main villain, Loki and his staff. One thing is certain, Marvel Studios are really making it a priority to make us fanboys squeal; like they've been doing since 2008!

Marvel's The Avengers is the Super Hero team up of a lifetime, featuring iconic Marvel Super Heroes Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow. When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, Director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. Spanning the globe, a daring recruitment effort begins. Starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner with Samuel L. Jackson and Tom Hiddleston, directed by Joss Whedon, Marvel's The Avengers will be released May 4, 2012.

I think it's now confirmed that Thanos will have some sort of role in the film.

Let's hope they don't turn him into a fart cloud
For some reason CBMs think it's cool to portray intergalactic villains as gas clouds..
Rise of the Silver Surfer's Galactus, Green Lantern's Parallax

But I think he'll just be shown briefly, like Smallville's Darkseid (except WITH GOOD CGI)
Or at the end of the film, having him rise against the Avengers after Loki gets his ass handed to him by hulk and thor

@Booyah: I hope you're being sarcastic lol - if they really wanted to cover it up, they would've re-shot it. They did it on purpose.

Wolfie confirmed it a month or 2 ago that Thanos is the one that gives Loki the army. Though it's weird they would make it so obviose in this video. Almost like they know everyone thinks its Thanos and they are trying to keep us away from the real secret. I still think we will see it in the after credits only.

Come on everyone, we all know that Thanos and the Infinity Gauntlet would be the perfect way to open up the Marvel Universe, even if it gets small cameo at the end of the Avengers movie. This is my prediction anyways. The story of the Infinity Gauntlet can bring to light other major Marvel characters they hope to some day bring to the BIG screen.

Thanos and the Infinity Gauntlet......woot!

Even if they showed Thanos after the credits as a sneak peak for Avengers 2, I would die happy!

How in the world are they going to pull this off? Well, if they are going to use the power of the Gauntlet why not put it to some good use Marvel. Have Thanos will Spiderman, Fantastic Four, Silver Surfer, Wolverine and the rest of the Mutants over into the Marvel Movieverse. If he'll do that then we might have have ourselves a LOTR size Marvel movie in our future!

Does this mean that The Avengers will mix it up with the Guardians of the Galaxy???

Either he's just trying to throw us off the scent or trying to make it look like he's trying to throw us off the scent. "Hide in plain sight" so to speak.

It looks like one is in Loki's staff, which the Avengers subsequently obtain and are studying. Maybe Loki has come to Earth looking for another one. If this is true look for a Thanos appearance after credits which will lead into The Avengers: The Infinity Gauntlet :)

I think that the Gauntlet will appear but wielded by Loki rather than Thanos. Feige did say that The Avengers will set up the 2nd major movie story arc so maybe Thanos appears in an after credits sequence? But this is all speculation and could be bullshizz
