After Captain America died, torn apart from the insides, Hawkeye and Natasha are mortified from the scene and they see the surveillance video only to realized that he was coming back from the Arctic visiting his old grave. Bruce turns to Nat and asks how she found the body and why she was even there, but Nat says she doesn't like his tone. Bruce reminds her she's the only one who had contact with him, and Nat snaps, saying she was supposed to spar with him in the gym, then adds that this gruesome way of killing is the Hulk's way.

Clint steps in and pulls them apart before Bruce apologizes for suggesting Nat had anything to do with it. They head to Iron Man, hoping he has some answers, but as they step into his place, Bruce suddenly notices blood under his foot. And that's when they see Tony dead the same way Cap died. Bruce calls out to Jarvis and asks for Tony's last recording before he was killed. The footage plays and they hear someone sneaking up on Tony, casually asking about decorations on his hammer, and they realize it must be Thor.

They rush to Thor's home and launch a surprise attack, only to find him already dead, also torn apart from the inside. Clint draws his bow and turns it on Bruce, saying only Hulk could have killed Thor like that. Bruce tries to reason with him, explaining this kind of damage had to come from something microscopic and invisible. Clint asks Nat what she thinks. However, she pulls out her gun and shoots Clint in the head with a big smile on her face, revealing that it was the Venom symbiot all along.

Venomized, Nat opens her mouth and the symbiot shoots out, forcing itself into Bruce, saying it finally found a worthy host. Hulk then is hit with Venom's memories as he sees Cap in the Arctic, finding something that crashed, revealing that it's the symbiot. It bonded with him, but Cap wasn't a compatible host, so it abandoned him and went to Nat. The symbiot grew stronger with time and realized that Hulk was the host it had been searching for all along.

Venom is mostly regarded as an anti-villian, but turns out that he is one of the very few that can take on the Avengers, an that even single handedly.
