Let me jump right into it and say the Avengers is f the best film of 2012 and possibly the greatest comic book movie to date. Each member of this ensemble cast gives a wonderful performance, especially Mark Ruffolo who portrayed Bruce Banner (the Hulk) for the first time in his career. I personally love Tom Hiddleston as Loki, he is frightening, menacing, and embodies everything Loki truly is and makes him a great first villain for the Avengers to face.
One of the best parts of the movie are the jokes in both the actions of the characters as well as the dialogue especially when it is spoken from the mouth of Mr. Tony Stark. Each character made you laugh, Thor’s response after being told his brother killed 80 people (‘‘He’s Adopted’’) , Coulson with his Captain America trading cards, and I believe comedy is a big part of any movie, even if it’s for a second you need to let the audience free momentarily with a joke.
The Action was definitely there throughout the film, a lot of destruction and explosions which is needed in a movie like the Avengers. One thing I will say is that each member got enough screen time of them doing what they do which is kicking serious alien ass which is part of the reason you want to buy your ticket
Overall, I would give the movie two thumbs up, 4.5/5. I don’t have many problems with the film just parts such as how Thor was able to reach Earth they should have elaborated a little more on that, also Coulson’s death (although a good guy needed to die) hit me where it hurt. I look forward to the solo films but more looking forward to the Avengers 2.
