Ryan Reynolds Whips Out (And Names) His Katana Swords In Newest DEADPOOL Set Photos
While an exec producer declares whether or not this action sequence recreates the test footage, the newest batch of Deadpool pics show Reynolds costumed and using the merc's trademark weapon(s)!
Yesterday was the fourth day of filming for Deadpool on the closed Georgia Viaduct in Vancouver, and you'll never guess who was on set... Ryan Reynolds, in full costume! Okay, so we might have seen the Canadian actor suited up on set almost everyday this week. However, the latest photos from Vancity Buzz show the Merc With A Mouth retiring his guns, and finally using his katana swords which he's named Bea & Arthur (see), according to a recent tweet from Reynolds himself.
Meanwhile, in between takes, local news station CBC spoke with one of the executive producers on Deadpool named Aditya Sood, who had discussed the "critical" sequence that has closed the busy Georgia Viaduct for nearly two weeks, and also how it relates to the leaked test footage. "There's a sequence in our film that requires us to be on a highway," explained Sood. "So, this was the best location that we could find in Vancouver, and the city was gracious enough to to allow us to shoot here." The exec then said he could not confirm nor deny that this particular sequence is a recreation of the test footage that leaked (and greenlit Deadpool) earlier this year, but "I can tell you one thing, it is not the exact scene that you might have seen," he said. What do you think?
Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, Deadpool tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life. Directed by Tim Miller, while starring Ryan Reynolds (Wade Wilson), Morena Baccarin (Vanessa Carlysle), T.J. Miller (Weasel), with Ed Skrein, and Brianna Hildebrand (Ellie Phimister), the much-hyped Deadpool is scheduled to open in theaters on February 12, 2016.
