Chills and thrills: will Gotham City be put on ice? George Clooney is Batman as the dark knight battles his greatest threat yet: cold-hearted Mr. Freeze (Schwarzenegger) and venomous Poison Ivy (Thurman). Batman has more than Gotham City to protect: the youthful eagerness of crimefighting comrades Robin (O'Donnell) and Batgirl (Silversone) puts them frequently in harm's way.

Batman & Robin (1997) was directed by Joel Schumacher, from a script written by Akiva Goldsman. The film starred: Arnold Schwarzenegger as Dr. Victor Fries/Mr. Freeze, George Clooney as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Chris O'Donnell as Dick Grayson/Robin, Uma Thurman as Dr. Pamela Isley/Poison Ivy, Alicia Silverstone as Barbara Wilson/Batgirl, Michael Gough as Alfred Pennyworth, Pat Hingle as Commissioner James Gordon, Elle Macpherson as Julie Madison, Vivica A. Fox as Ms. B. Haven, and Vendela Kirsebom as Nora Fries.

It's almost as if at one point this movie had some sliver of potential... And somewhere along the way they messed up.

Also, first. Noice.

But I mean, really. The concept art looks great. It looks as though they had wanted a more comicbook feel to the movie, but that changed at one point or another. Batman's costume designs are awesome! And I feel that with proper direction, Clooney could have possibly made an okay Batman. Possibly.

Best CBM to date. Better than Gayvengers or the Fart Knight!

Why remind us of this movie? I mean, why? Why?! The original Batman films ended with Batman Forever, then rebooted with Batman Begins 10 years later.

That...is...the...reality...

I remember early in the process of making this one they announced their intention to use the cartoon origin of Mr. Freeze and were looking at Patrick Stewart to play him.

Then later I had heard that Arnold would play Mr. Freeze and Schumacher was talking about the film saying things like "Bruce Wayne's parents died when he was a child... I think he would be over it by now." That was when I wrote off all hope for this one.

Yeah, Poison Ivy and Batgirl look much better when they don't resemble the actual movie. Ivy especially when she looks more like the animated series character.

Does anyone think that Chris O'Donnell looks like Steve Amell's Arrow?

The Animated Series was going strong during the time of this movie and SHOULD have had much more influence on it! Mr. Freeze was just...so terrible. Could you imagine if Mr. Freeze had been done like the one in the Animated Series? Oh and if Arnold hadn't have played him.

Damn. I miss THIS Freeze his voice was just haunting!
