BATMAN FOREVER Star Val Kilmer Is Open To Returning As The Caped Crusader If Warner Bros. Comes Calling

Val Kilmer suited up as Batman between Michael Keaton and George Clooney's Dark Knights, and the Top Gun: Maverick star has now admitted that he's willing and able to reprise the role if Warner Bros. asks.

A relatively long list of actors have suited up as Batman over the years, and while Val Kilmer is often lost in the shuffle, the actor's Caped Crusader definitely has a lot of fans.

He took over the role of Bruce Wayne from Michael Keaton in 1995's Batman Forever, sharing the screen with Tommy Lee Jones' Two-Face and Jim Carrey as The Riddler. If The Flash is released, it will bring Keaton back as the hero, but there are rumblings that he and Ben Affleck won't be the only Dark Knights we see in the Multiversal adventure.

During a brief email Q&A with IGN's Jim Vejvoda, Kilmer was asked about possibly reprising the role of Batman in a future DC project and responded with an enthusiastic "Yes please."

He's clearly wiling to suit up as Batman again, and given that Warner Bros. seems to be treating the Tim Burton and Joel Schumacher movies as being in their own respective worlds, there's really no reason Barry Allen couldn't briefly cross paths with his Gotham City crimefighter. Ultimately, that will hinge on how many cameos The Flash actually winds up having.

While the DC Extended Universe is now in flux following Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav's planned changes to how those projects are handled, there was once going to be a Crisis on Infinite Earths movie.

It's hard to say whether that will still happen, but we have to believe the plan was for multiple "Batmen" to share the screen, similar to what we recently saw in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Fingers crossed that becomes a reality, but with Keaton being removed from Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and Batgirl's cancellation, we're not banking on it.

The Flash races into theaters in June 23, 2023.
