The original Batmobile from the Batman TV show was sold at an auction in Scottsdale, Arizona this weekend. This ties the record set by the Aston Martin DB5 driven by Sean Connery in Goldfinger, which was sold in 2010.

George Barris, a legendary Hollywood car customizer, designed the car in 1966 in just 15 days. It was built on off a 1955 Ford Futura and cost $15,000 to build. The car has been in Barris' personal collection since the show ended and was purchased by Rick Champagne, who is a businessman and car collector.

And, yes it is street legal
