BOX OFFICE: THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE To Dominate FIFTY SHADES And JOHN WICK This Weekend

Despite, ahem, stiff competition from Fifty Shades Darker and John Wick: Chapter 2, the signs are all pointing to The LEGO Batman Movie being the truly dominant force this weekend...

Warner Bros. has been killing it with the marketing campaign for The LEGO Batman Movie, and when you throw in the fact it stars the Caped Crusader, it should come as no surprise to learn that it's heading straight to #1 at the North American box office. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the animated feature looks set to earn upwards of $60 million and could even surpass $70 million!

That's a great result for the studio, especially as The LEGO Batman Movie is opening opposite Fifty Shades Darker. While its predecessor debuted with a record-breaking $85 million, the follow-up currently looks set to earn only between $30 million - $40 million this pre-Valentine's Day weekend.

Highly anticipated action sequel John Wick: Chapter 2 sadly doesn't look set to make a huge impact, but given its low budget, a $20 million haul isn't too bad. It's also worth noting that it's debuting ahead of 2014's first instalment which made $14.4 million, so that could signal good things for the franchise moving forward. Reviews have been overwhelmingly positive too, so that should definitely help.

What do you guys plan on seeing this weekend? Let us know in the comments section down below.

"You seem to be using this meme in a comedic manner, but all I see is the briliance of Zack Snyder shining once more. Only he could craft such a scene so masterfully and relevant through the passage of time. Meanwhile, the Marble kids are enjoying their billionth formula-ic and unimpressive installment, while the DCEU dares to defy all expectations and do what no other film has done before.

#DCEU #Snyder #DoYouLikeMeYtet?"

@HulkOnion -

Users complaining about fonts in memes?

Yeah, it really is.

@GreekCreekGeek - I am using it in a comedic manner haha. All I meant was who in there right mind would be surprised that the Batman Lego movie would do better than 50 shades and John Wick? And I love John Wick, but it's rated R so parents aren't taking their kids to see that. And 50 Shades, I hope to God bombs at the Box Office

Secondly I actually do love BvS

Agreed, but I actually used the quotations as a satire for users like JonHeisenberg, BreadlyPitt, or the Clarkman brothers, who always seem to be praising the everliving shit out of BvS as some sort of "misunderstood piece of pure postmodern art" or something "smart" like that.

It's cool if you love it. But when users become preachy about it, chances are it's because they're either contrarians for the sake of trolling, or narcissistically delusional to the point of no return.

@GreekCreekGeek - I agree, I happen to love BvS, but I understand why people don't. I also happen to love Marvel movies. That image of Perry saying that just popped into my head when the title was "A kids movie, outperforms a rated R movie", like who is surprised at that.

I hope that wouldn't be the kind of meme that gets my comment deleted or account banned, as I do love coming here
