Movie Trailers - Movies Blog "I think they should do what they do best: take other people's ideas and make movies out of them," DeVito told MTV News when asked how he feels the studio should proceed with the next installment. "I wouldn't want to stand in the way of regress of progress." The "Always Sunny in Philadelphia" actor then back peddled, saying that it isn't Nolan's films he's criticizing, but studios' affinity for dusting off old properties instead of pursuing new, original ideas. "I think [Nolan] is great and did a great job with all of the Batman [films]," said DeVito. "I think he's an excellent director and an excellent filmmaker. ... I'm a big fan." "I loved [Michael] Keaton and I loved [George] Clooney and all the people who played [Bruce Wayne], but this is kind of a more visceral thing now," explained DeVito. "I don't think they're going to come close to anything Tim Burton does," he said. "You can't out-Fellini [Federico] Fellini and you can't out-Burton Burton, so it's good they're taking another tact." Personally I have no idea what the logic is behind his way of thinking. Wasn't Burton just taking the ideas from the comics to make his movies? Maybe he's bitter they didn't ask him to reprise his role!
