@BillCipher999 - His Joker and Hamilton would probably come to some disagreeances on economics, what with the anarchism and everything. Him and Hamill though...

Jared Leto's Joker is the definition of a little bitch.

Only after watching his terrible portrayal i could fully appreciate Heath Ledger's Joker in a way i couldn't otherwise.

The difference between an actor who remade the character to work in a more realistic way, and a guy who thinks he's so much of a genius, all he needs is laugh, in every [frick]ing scene.

@Webheaded225 -
The thing about Ledger is that no one expected him to pull it off. People knew that Nicholson could play the Joker well before Batman came out. The Shining was all the evidence one needed.
But he came out and accepted the role of an iconic villain AFTER Nicholson's portrayal while having the reputation of a pretty boy actor, and then completely transformed himself. Had I not known the name of the actor I would not have recognized him. He blew everyone out of the water with a performance that didn't rip off Nicholson's masterful performance.

@Webheaded225 - IMO: I don't think that's all on, Jared. This was a Davis Ayer vehicle and I think he made a character that defined itself through the content of the story not the character. Leto is not a bad actor at all, but the substance of his joker was lacking. Heath held the true motive back until he confessed them to, Harvey Dent in TDK. Jared's character had no clear definition of what he stood for or what his purpose was in the film.

TDK was about Batman's fight against organized crime. The joker represented disorganized crime. Batman was about ensuring safety and stability while fighting behind a mask. Joker represented the calamity that comes from fighting behind a mask.

@rebelnmotion - The thing that I love about Heath's Joker is that he literally embodies chaos. He's calm and calculating but manic and random all at the same time and because of that, no one knows how to deal with him because he's completely unpredictable. Some people may not have dug his look but for me he was, at the very core, what the Joker has represented throughout comic history.

I saw Letto's Joker more as a gangsta thug wannabe. At no point in Suicide Squad did I ever get the feeling he was a genuine threat to anyone. The Joker is supposed to be Batman's ultimate foe but I just didn't see him posing any real challenge to Ben's version of Batman mentally or physically. I really wanted to like this Joker because Jared is a good actor and given the right material, he could've been great. But this version of the Joker just didn't hit the spot for me.

@bcom - Exactly. Characters are only as good as their motivation. Since Suicide Squad was about the Squad and not about the Joker it fell flat.

If it's just a physical fight we are talking about you have to give it to Leto's Joker. Awful as he is, he's somehow managed to stay alive against a far more effective and dangerous Batman.

@MrAisA - Well, we never saw them fight. Nor did we get any indication of a battle between the two. Best we got was that a punch from Batman knocked out most his teeth, so in that respect he is weaker than the Heath Ledger Batman who lasted multiple punches without teeth loss.

@Scarilian - We saw Batman try to take him down in SS and Joker got away. Batman's punch to Harley didn't knock all of her teeth out so we can assume that Joker's state is due to multiple beatings, which he survived from a man who casually kills criminals. Ledger Joker had to be saved/spared from death multiple times by a physically weaker Batman.

There are plenty of indications of battle between the current Batman and Joker: Robin's suit, comment Bruce makes to Clark about clowns, Joker's bat tats, etc. It would be ludicrous to assume that of all the iterations of these characters and their long history, that this is the one version where they only fought once.

@MrAisA - Well this Batman casually kills criminals except for Joker, Harley and Deadshot for some strange reason.

@MrAisA - Ledger Joker almost beat Bats with a couple of dogs and a crowbar.
