Feature Opinion

Ok everyone has their favorite actor when it comes to the Joker, but what we are looking for here today is "What movie provided the best Comic-to-Screen adaptation of Jokers look?" Acting performance is to have no influence here. It is simply a matter of "Which one do you think is most faithful to the comics?"

Now...without further ado...
"Here....we.... Go!"
BATMAN(1967)

BATMAN(1989)

BATMAN:DEAD END

THE DARK KNIGHT

BATMAN:CITY OF SCARS

legionbecks@ Dude TDK Has The jokers mouth scarred from a cut to make his huge grin and his face is powdered in with makeup for the lips and stuff

The Joker in The comics has bleached white skin and ruby red lips from a vat of chemicals Although its is one of the best performances it's not how the real Joker looks

Id have to say City of scars or Batman 89

This is all about brining the LOOK of Joker in the comics and putting it on screen.

I know Ledgers Joker was awesome, but I don't recall him LOOKING like that in the comics.

ROMACK - 7/5/2010, 1:02 AM
It does look good doesn't it? ...but Dead End is my favorite.

I hear ya about Mark Hamill ...he rules. If I do a Fancast for "The Dark Knight Returns" By Frank Miller, He will be my choice for Joker.

because people would suck ledgers dilk if he were still alive. its ridiculous to think Ledger's joker should win this. he looked NOTHING like the comic.

Why are fan-film depictions of Joker being brought up as possible choices? I thought this would be a contest between the ACTUAL actors who portrayed Joker and in that case I'd go with Jack Nicholson's Joker...as a kid i loved his Joker and the facepaint. It was amazing how they made his grin look...very amazing.

for what romack said, o wait nvm i read it wrong, i didnt read that it was the most faithfull to comics to screen adaptation. idk then, but if it was the most realistic while still portraying the character well, TDK, but thats not what this poll is about lol

i guess the reason TDK Joker is winning this is because most people are like you. I don't get it. TDK Joker has scars carved into his face, and his skin isn't bleached white, its paint. how in the world does that look more like the comic version? please explain that to me. and that goes to everyone that voted for TDK Joker also. serioulsy...

@ CorndogBurglar: Maybe I could explain, I think everyone's reasoning is that they loved The Dark Knight as a film, especially The Joker. They might be saying that he looks more like the comic book Joker, because they like Heath's Joker the most. It's possible that they're not necessarily considering the actual physical likeness of the two, or maybe they see something that others don't, I don't know.

I actually almost voted for TDK's Joker myself, but after looking at him and the other candidates, well I'm not really sure who to choose.

BUT

Just my theory on everyone choosing The Dark Knight's Joker above all the others.

WTF? Don't you people know how to read? How the fcuk is the TDK joker the closest to the Joker in the comics? If the question was "Which one looks the least like the comics" then sure, TDK FTW. I swear we should first give a literacy test before allowing people to vote on these things. Jeez ...

@ flames

yeah, apparently they're blind. and people are such marks for Ledger because he gave us the best Joker, that they'll pick him for ANYTHING. He clearly looks nothing like the comics. its baffling that so many people would pick TDK Joker in this. i guess more people around here have never picked up a comic than i thought...

definetly the dark knight.

City of Scars Joker definitely looks the most like the comic version.
TDK has the best performance IMO.

no offense to the author because its not his fault, but this has made me not trust a single poll on this site. if people are this delusional.

I'm going to make a poll called, "Whats Your Favorite Condiment?"

and the choices will be: Ketchup, Mustard, Mayonaise, and TDK Joker.

I guarantee Joker will win....
McLovin
McLovin - 7/6/2010, 2:24 PM
@ CDB - LOL, I wouldn't take you up on that because I agree with you 100%. The question could be anything and as long as TDK "anything" is part of the question, people will default to that without fully understanding the question.

@ tea - yup. It's almost like most CBM fans are on automatic mode, in which the default setting is set to TDK.

And why are we making references to who's performance was best? Was that the question? Was this article edited and I missed it? If it was a question of performance, wouldn't ROMACK have mentioned it in his article. What he did instead is clearly the opposite. Here is a direct quote from the article in case it's not abundantly clear: "Ok everyone has their favorite actor when it comes to the Joker, but what we are looking for here today is "What movie provided the best Comic-to-Screen adaptation of Jokers look?" Acting performance is to have no influence here. It is simply a matter of "Which one do you think is most faithful to the comics?"

So pretty please, with sugar on top ... READ THE F.U.C.K.I.N.G ARTICLE!!!

Yeah, I havn't commented yet because I just don't want to say anything that might offend all the dumb$h!ts voting for TDK. Maybe they CAN'T read and just like looking at the pictures.
McLovin
McLovin - 7/6/2010, 7:16 PM
@ CDB - Hey broham! Yeah, I find myself commenting less often. I don't know about you, but I have become a bit more reserved on what I comment on. Unless the article is about something I am really interested in or I find some of the old school regulars, I just read the article and skip the comments all together. Either that or I only read comments from those I hold in high regard ;-)

@ ROMACK - LMFAO @ " that might offend all the dumb$h!ts voting for TDK". Dude, nice article. Sorry you had to put up with the "I don't care what the question is, the answer is TDK" folks ...

I think Nicholson definitely matched the look perfectly. I mean look at his threads, it's practically straight from the comic, along with his makeup.
scarecrow67
scarecrow67 - 7/7/2010, 8:44 AM
Nicholson Joker looks like the he fell into a vat of ice cream compared to the Joker from the comics. He just looks like a fat clown.

@ flames

and in the comics you read with the Joker, does he have scars on his face? is the white just paint? no? then how can say TDK looks more like the comics?

this isn't even a matter of opinion. it would be like someone telling you that the color red looks more blue to them. (unless they're colorblind, it would be crazy, no?) lol

Batman Dead End looks the most like the comics.
Heath Ledger was the best on screen potrayal of the Joker of our time.

if we are going by looks then all of them would fit. theres been so many different looks of him. one of my favs is jim lee's version of joker in hush. and the joker in long halloween and dark victory. heath's version wasnt really traditional but now it most definitly will be.

Dead End Joker FTW.
If you havn't seen this short movie you are depriving yourself.
Creature

It looks like Jokers face changed a bit for the original series. Everything else became reminiscent of that version. Then Joker became a bit creepier looking to come off as psychotic. Dead End Joker looks like him. Brian Azzarello's graphic novel starring Joker is what I think was what inspired Heath Ledger's costume. But for the majority, Ceasar Romero's Joker resembles what I see the most in comics. Jack Nicholson looks lame to me and can just resemble the silver age Joker, with the frozen grin, wide eyes, and the way of speech.

@ creature

Brian Azzarello's Joker comic came out AFTER TDK.
