The Predator's Opening Weekend Numbers Are In
Though The Predator did manage to come out on top this weekend at the NA box office, Shane Black's film launched with a rather tepid $24 million, which is being viewed as a disappointing bow for 20th Century Fox's revival of the sci-fi action franchise.
Overseas, the movie earned $30.7 million for a global start of $54.7 million.
It's possible that the mostly negative critical reaction contributed to this mediocre opening - although the controversy stemming from Black hiring a registered sex offender for a scene with Olivia Munn doesn't seem to have had much of an impact.
Unused Mantis Design For GOTG Vol. 2
Marvel Studios concept artist Andy Park has shared an unused character design for Mantis (Pom Klementieff) that was actually approved for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 before being changed at the last minute.
As you can see, this take on the character was a lot more insect-like, with raised yellow skin and cockroach antennae.

In related news (well, it's really more of a rumor for now) SuperBroMovies has heard that Suicide Squad 2 will be "a grounded, black ops style film that could find its way to an R rating." A portion of the movie is also expected to take place in the Middle East.

Another rumor here, but one that does gel with some of the things we have heard Warner Bros. is planning for the new Supergirl movie.

Apparently, some of the story will also take place on Kryton.
