Over the holidays, we asked you all to weigh in with your thought on 2022's best superhero movie. To do so, you simply had to cast your vote in a poll, and we can now share what ComicBookMovie.com's readers decided was the best - and worst - the year had to offer in this beloved genre.
Thousands of you made your voices heard from all over the world, and the results make for very interesting reading.
The clear winner was The Batman with 59.73% of the vote, while Black Panther: Wakanda Forever came in a distant second with 12.35%. In what we can only assume was a lot of you choosing to have fun with this poll (unless you really enjoy Morbin' time...), Morbius was in third place with 9.01%.
Next up was Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (7.88%), with Marvel Studios Special Presentations Werewolf By Night (4.01%) and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special (2.99%) not too far behind.
Black Adam (2.31%) managed to defeat Thor: Love and Thunder (0.89%), with DC League of Super-Pets (0.4%), Samaritan (0.35%), and Secret Headquarters (0.08%) right at the bottom.
It's been a crazy year for DC fans, with the DC Extended Universe set to reach its end in 2023 following the formation of DC Studios. James Gunn and Peter Safran are in the process of launching the DCU, but The Batman franchise looks set to continue as a standalone "Elseworlds" property.
We'd say it should absolutely take the top spot in this poll, with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever a very deserving second. As for the rest? Taking those Special Presentations aside, it wasn't a great 2022!
"Delivering the definitive take on the World’s Greatest Detective, The Batman is a sweeping, cinematic masterpiece that’s both DC’s best film and one of the most captivating, relentless, and unforgettable comic book movies ever made," we said in our review earlier this year.
