THE BATMAN Knocks SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME From The Top Of The Home Entertainment Chart

After spending a spectacular five weeks at the top of the home entertainment charts, Spider-Man: No Way Home has dropped to third place following the HBO Max release of The Batman.

After enjoying unprecedented pandemic-era success at the worldwide box office, Sony Pictures' Spider-Man: No Way Home swung to the top of the home entertainment charts five weeks ago, and has managed to hold on to the No. 1 spot... until now.

As many predicted it would, Matt Reeves' The Batman knocked the Spidey threequel from the top position when it debuted on HBO Max last Monday. Recent Channing Tatum dramedy Dog has claimed second place, but No Way Home is clinging on to #3, which is still pretty impressive when you take into account that it's been available to watch from home for over a month.

Here are this week's top ten film and TV titles via Vudu.

1) The Batman

2) Dog

3) Spider-Man: No Way Home

4) Sing 2

5) Moonfall

6) Blacklight

7) The Contractor

8) Jackass Forever

9) Better Call Saul Season 6

10) Infinite

The Batman didn't quite manage to match No Way Home's big-screen performance, but it's still the top-grossing movie of the year so far. Of course, that could all change when Marvel Studios' Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness hits theaters early next month.

Warner Bros. has yet to officially announced a sequel to Reeves' reboot, but we know there are tentative plans in place for a follow-up, and the "Batverse" will continue to expand in several HBO Max spinoffs focusing on The Penguin and Arkham Asylum.

lol pretending this movie is anywhere near Spideys BO power. Time beat NWH not this Battripe. Trash movie.

People act like a movie will run at the theater forever. Time will surly kill it. Not Batemo

@Dope21 - I can tell you it's definitely a better overall film. I gave Batman 7.5 out of 10. NWH gets a 6 on nostalgia alone. Too much stupidity in the script which is the same problem I had with Batman to be honest, but Batman isn't the sorcerer Supreme who is supposed to protect reality, oh ya Doc lost that title lol. Nor does he have a magic easy bake oven in his man friends apartment for easy villain reduction

@McMurdo - Spidey desereved every bit of the hype. Best film i've seen in a while.

Batman trash. Only making money off name and goodwill from TDK and Netflix DD

I don't think I could ask for a better example of why audience scores are worthless without sitting on a dude that smells like cheap whiskey dressed in red's lap.

@Dope21 - You must not watch a lot of film if SM NWH is the best film you have seen in a while. I thought the movie was good. Ill give it a 7 out of 10. Batman was better though. Sorry to break it to you. Even then the batman was not perfect. Also The Batman was not even close to the best film i have seen in a while. Then again, I am a bit of film snob myself so my taste is very different to many who watch movies. EEAAO wiped the floor with both these movies as a film and is probably one of the best movies i have seen in a while.

@Dope21 - Just because you dont like my opinion doesnt make it shitty. Sorry my guy. Its okay. You think spiderman is a 10/10 film and I say spiderman isnt even as good as Quentin Tarantinos worse film.

@McMurdo - NWH desreved the hype, love and BO. The hype was warrented. Deserved all of it. GREAT movie.

The people spoke true this time. The talks of Oscar snub was earned. This one time the people got it right. Damn the handful of dc crackheads saying Batman is better

@Dope21 - This is embarrassing. I loved NWH when it came out, but now comments like this have it leaving a bad taste in my mouth. The Batman has more artistic quality in its opening sequence than the entirety of NWH.

Dope21 - 4/25/2022, 5:49 PM
@SerKurtWagner - "but now comments like this have it leaving a bad taste in my mouth."

And... you and @da2213viking prententious think someone cares about your opinions. No better cares if someone doesn't like a movie because they do. lol stop sad ass.

Artistic does not mean good. I like more artistic films than you. The Batman is just ass.

@Waddles - he's right though. This Batman is intentional DD ripoff
