The Batman: Year One Commemorative Edition Blu-ray is now available, and it includes a new behind-the-scenes featurette for Matt Reeves' The Batman.
As the title suggests, "Reinventing Gordon" takes a closer look at this latest incarnation of the Dark Knight's partner in crime-fighting, Commissioner Jim Gordon. The character has been played by some heavy-hitters over the years, including Gary Oldman and J.K. Simmons, but Jeffrey Wright (Westworld, No Time To Die) plans on putting his own spin on Gotham City's incorruptible lawman.
Wright talks about his take on Gordon in the video, which also includes some new footage of the police lieutenant (he won't be commissioner when we first meet him) investigating a crime scene alongside Robert Pattinson's Caped Crusader.
"The Batman is an edgy, action-packed thriller that depicts Batman in his early years, struggling to balance rage with righteousness as he investigates a disturbing mystery that has terrorized Gotham," reads the movie's updated synopsis. "Robert Pattinson delivers a raw, intense portrayal of Batman as a disillusioned, desperate vigilante awakened by the realization that the anger consuming him makes him no better than the ruthless serial killer he’s hunting."
The Batman also Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as The Riddler, Andy Serkis as Alfred, and Colin Farrell as The Penguin. The movie is set to hit theaters on March 4, 2022.
