THE BATMAN: HBO Max Releases The Movie's Insane Batmobile Chase Scene In 5-Minute Clip

The Batman only featured one major Batmobile sequence, but it was one of the best we've ever seen on the big screen. Now, with the movie streaming on HBO Max, five minutes of the scene have been released.

The Batman was the opening chapter in a "Batverse" that's going to explore Gotham City in a big way over the next few years. While a sequel still hasn't been officially announced, Warner Bros. is moving forward with TV shows following The Penguin and the inhabitants of Arkham State Hospital, respectively, and even a prequel comic book exploring The Riddler's past written by actor Paul Dano.

Recently, Matt Reeves' DC Comics adaptation premiered on HBO Max and, as you might expect, this slowed down The Batman's momentum at the North American box office.

This weekend, the movie earned only $1.5 million, but with $368 million in the U.S. and $759 million at the worldwide box office, there's no denying that The Batman is a huge hit. At this stage, Warner Bros.' priority is likely to be upping HBO Max's subscription numbers, and its Digital release is being hyped up with an officially released five-minute clip highlighting that epic Batmobile chase.

In that scene, the Dark Knight chases down Oswald Cobblepot through the mean streets of Gotham City, and while it's a sequence very much grounded in reality, this is still absolutely epic!

"For the first time on screen, Batman feels like a presence in Gotham City who drives fear into its criminals and whether it’s the way he stalks the shadows or tears into action in the best Batmobile sequence ever committed to film," we pointed out in our review back in March"it's clear from the start that Reeves had a deep understanding and love of this character - and the lore that surrounds him - which translates perfectly to the screen."
