THE BATMAN Knocks SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME From The Top Of The Home Entertainment Chart

After spending a spectacular five weeks at the top of the home entertainment charts, Spider-Man: No Way Home has dropped to third place following the HBO Max release of The Batman.

After enjoying unprecedented pandemic-era success at the worldwide box office, Sony Pictures' Spider-Man: No Way Home swung to the top of the home entertainment charts five weeks ago, and has managed to hold on to the No. 1 spot... until now.

As many predicted it would, Matt Reeves' The Batman knocked the Spidey threequel from the top position when it debuted on HBO Max last Monday. Recent Channing Tatum dramedy Dog has claimed second place, but No Way Home is clinging on to #3, which is still pretty impressive when you take into account that it's been available to watch from home for over a month.

Here are this week's top ten film and TV titles via Vudu.

1) The Batman

2) Dog

3) Spider-Man: No Way Home

4) Sing 2

5) Moonfall

6) Blacklight

7) The Contractor

8) Jackass Forever

9) Better Call Saul Season 6

10) Infinite

The Batman didn't quite manage to match No Way Home's big-screen performance, but it's still the top-grossing movie of the year so far. Of course, that could all change when Marvel Studios' Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness hits theaters early next month.

Warner Bros. has yet to officially announced a sequel to Reeves' reboot, but we know there are tentative plans in place for a follow-up, and the "Batverse" will continue to expand in several HBO Max spinoffs focusing on The Penguin and Arkham Asylum.
