BLACK CANARY Fan-Art Imagines What Jurnee Smollett Could Look Like In A Comic Accurate Costume

Birds of Prey failed to strike a chord with some fans, which was was reflected in its poor box office performance. Despite that, the movie was a critical hit, and one that introduced a lot of great female characters. Among them was Jurnee Smollett's Black Canary, though the team-up movie barely scratched the surface of what the beloved vigilante is capable of.

That looks set to change with the Black Canary movie coming to HBO Max, though, and the project will reunite Smollett with screenwriter Misha Green (they worked together on Lovecraft Country).

No plot details have been revealed, though it's fair to say that the vast majority would like to see Dinah Lance joined by a new version of Green Arrow given their comic book history. Talking of the source material, a newly revealed piece of fan-art gives the superhero a comic accurate costume that we're sure many of you are hoping makes it to the streaming service!

It does a great job of balancing those familiar elements from the comics with realistic additions that mean Black Canary won't look out of place in the DC Extended Universe.

Chances are it will be a while before we see anything official from this one, but stay tuned for updates.

In the meantime, check out this badass Black Canary fan-art below:
