I read up in DCEU leaks that Harley Quinn is not in the movie as much as you would assume. The marketing is just that. Marketing. People like HQ, so they gotta milk her dry in promotional things to get tickets sold. So the Birds of Prey movie is genuinely a Birds of Prey movie.

Take it with a grain of salt, but if true, that's smart on WB's/DC's part.

@KWilly - This all harkens back to the great uproar/controversies of the past.

- Should Herman Melville titled the book, ‘Moby Dick’ when the actual whale is barley in the novel. Perhaps his original title “My Summer with Captain Peg Leg” would have been more accurate.

Or

- JK Rowling titling it “HP and the Goblet of Fire”. Perhaps a title with a object that is in more than 10% of the story?

@MrLuciass - Well no it's actually called "Birds of Prey (AND the Fantabulous Emancipation of one Harley Quinn)"

Everyone on here keeps on mentioning that it should be the other way around but it does in fact start with BOP

Been saying that.
They market a Birds of Prey film with Harley up-front. You get introduced to new characters with the hope of spinning some off.
It explains why people are saying Black Mask and Black Canary are the breakouts of the film, and DC/WB is optioning a Black Canary film.

Im beginning to suspect despite the R rating there wont be anything overtly sexual in this film

I know this thing is "modestly budgeted", and will turn a profit regardless of quality, but, damn...the marketing for this movie is aggressively UGLY.

So is this in the timeline of BvS/Justice League or in Matt Reeves’ Batman timeline? I’m confused.

It's astounding how unrecognisable these characters are. Even the core essentials of their physical appearances are almost completely absent. If you stare at the designs long enough, you might be able to piece together that Margot Robbie is Harley Quinn or that Mary Elizabeth Winstead is Huntress. That's literally it.

Even Black Mask looks more like Captain Boomerang.
